'15 NC RB Rocky Reid (Wake Forest commit)

The sites have there flaws but they are there for a reason.

And that reason is to make money. It's not all black and white. They are somewhat biased towards kids who come to their camps because they can write articles about them and create more traffic to the site. This causes more subscriptions purchased. Don't think for a second that there isn't politics in recruiting sites.

It is his VN schtick

Nationdom = recruit stars

LebanonVolunteer = recruiting #s

UTKnate = recruits bodies

Ron Swanson. = overflowing optimism (my opinion he is a realist :). )

MockingVol = mocking VN posters

Butchna = emoticons united :hi:

You are just helping solidify his reputation.

Whaaaa?! Me mocking someone?! Or being otherwise sarcastic when dealing with most posters?! I don't believe it!

:)

Jordan Matthews, Connor Cook, Dak Prescott, Marcus Mariota, Kevin Hogan, Johnny Manziel are just a few that blows holes in your theory.

I personally know a recruiting analyst who rated Johnny Maziel a 3*. In hindsight, the analyst admits to having been wrong on his assessment. He said rating high school athletes is an inexact science and they (recruiting analysts) often miss in their rankings...both by over ranking and under ranking. They try to do their best and get the rankings as accurate as they can, but they do make mistakes in their valuations.

Very possible. I bet they make a lot of mistakes in their evaluations, as well. :)

Imagine all the variables there are to look at. The kid can be a very talented but complete selfish lazy player, he can be as physically mature as he'll ever be at 18 or he might grow another inch or two and pack on good weight. He could play against a bunch of scrubs which adds a completely different element. Marsalis Teague played in a higher class at a higher level than Patrick willis. As did Chris donald. Stuff like that sets them up to be wrong. Honestly I'm surprised they are as accurate as they are.

Come on now! You know CBJ and the staff base all their evaluations and who is where on their board off of the recruiting services * rankings. :)

No Leb...they recruit kids and publicly commit to them until an extra star pops up...then they publicly commit to that kid...if that kid switches to another school, then they go back to the original kid and say they were just kidding...then another kid with an extra star.....

Ahh, the classic "insurance" commitment. Love it. :birgits_giggle:

He picked Reid already....soooo?

Over Frasier? I highly doubt that. They took Reid's commitment because they liked him enough but in no way does that mean they liked him more than Frasier.

Frasier is big-time for sure. If I could have one High School RB in this class that TN is involved with it would be Frasier, followed closely by Love. And that is nothing against Reid.

Exactly my point.

I'm not going to get in the star's debate, but Arkansas and Wisconsin both offered. The way both those schools are producing at running back right now, I feel pretty good about having Reid.

The hypothetical was WHO DOES BUTCH PICK? I thought it was pretty easy.

I'd say they'd pick Frasier hands down if they had the choice between the two. Obviously they didn't have the choice because Frasier hasn't been considering Tennessee at all up until now.

this has been a highly disappointing thread. Trust me Rocky if you ever read this, the bone head is strong through these pages.
