Yeah I wouldn't think so with how small of classes they have. I don't know what parallels can or should be drawn between big time athletes and "regular" kids. But it can't be a bad thing that popularity with Tennessee is growing within the ranks. But then again it needs to be city wide not just one small private school.

I really don't see a lot of Memphis on the average day. I'm either in Germantown or just outside olive branch. I always see ole miss stuff on that drive. I rarely see Memphis or Tennessee stuff. Honestly though I would expect the average private school kid in Memphis to go to ole miss and vacation in destin lol

I grew up in Germantown and now raising a family there. There are a lot of UT fans in Germantown and Collierville. I could have a huge party if I invited everyone I knew that roots for UT.

God I hate Memphis. This place suuuucks. If not for the BBQ I'd say blow it off the map.

Maybe I'm just not used to it cuz I was away for quite some time.

I wonder why we can't recruit Memphis. Surely it would have nothing to do with the fact that 99% of the state wishes the city would just go away.

Funny. I was thinking the same thing. Bet the folks in Oxford aren't quite so hard on Memphis. Just sayin'...

Drew is a freaking beast!
I really wanted this young man.
With his talent and a position of need at UT,
I cannot for the life of me understand his decision.
Miss has never been more than a "flash in the pan".
This kid would be an absolute perfect fit in Knoxville, would get early playing time, and his name would be known as our o-line play is an all too often topic right now.
He would be a known and a specifically integral part of the Tennessee program rebirth.
Hate we missed him, and pray he changes his mind.
Bring it to ktown D-beast!

Anybody have quotes from the 247 article by Callaham from this morning, "Five that could flip".

Here you go

Richmond just announced his commitment to Ole Miss a little more than a week ago. But even before he made his decision known, it was widely believed that his announcement wouldn’t be the end of his recruitment. Sources close to Richmond have indicated that his decision came down to Ole Miss and Tennessee in the end, and he already has been in contact with the Vols’ coaches since he made his choice last week. It’s not out of the question that the state’s No. 1 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite could attend one of UT’s home games this season, and the Vols appear likely to get an official visit from Richmond closer to National Signing Day.

We pretty much think the same thing about the whole state of alabama but we still pull recruits from there...actually we're saving them.

You just described some of my family friends that live in Germantown. You know the Dunaway family by chance??

I'm in Collierville and there's lots of Tennessee people. It's a fine mixture of Memphis, ole miss, Tennessee, and even Mississippi State. I'd make the argument that Mississippi State is just as popular in Collierville as Ole Miss.
