Personal responsibility and junkies don't exist.
It's not the same thing either man.
Where does it end? Where does the ability to make your own choices, without it conflicting with the morality of the state come in? What shall we ban next?
Most in this thread are against gun control, as am I. Can't you see the illogical stance of banning a substance or object, instead of punishing the actions of the individual on said illegal item? It's the same thing the gun grabbers do.
I think you mean they don't coexist in the same person, which is also incorrect.
We're gonna need a plunger to get all your premises down the toilet without a courtesy flush or two.
So because someone is a junkie they aren't human? They don't have the same rights as you and I?
Your logic is very flawed and very unprincipled, I don't mean that in an insulting way btw. You need to understand that we can have all the laws and regulations you want. YOU CANNOT REGULATE HUMAN ACTION. People will do as they choose, meanwhile the state gets richer and richer collecting all the "revenue".
I've often wondered if you quit smoking just about the time to get that job at the software company was a coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
It's the society we live & no it's not perfect, far from it. People have choices & for some of them there are pretty bad consequences....Freedom or get high in this instance. Part of it is the morality of the state but a lot of it is common damn sense. It only takes a little common sense to realize most drugs should not be legal. I believe most folks would concede to weed if it meant everything else went away but that will never happen.

How much crime do you think can be attributed to drugs? Are people junkies because drugs are illegal? No. It's also the same morality of the state that you're so against that supports way too many of these people at the expense of others. I guess that's ok though.
