'15 TN OT Drew Richmond (Former Ole Miss commit)

Hubbs just now said on the zone that momentum Ole Miss and proximity may be an issue but we were still swinging for the fences and wouldn't go without a fight so its not over.

I'm glad I don't have CBJ's job right now. Tough spot to be in as a head coach if we don't get his commitment. Sure, we will still be all over him; however, I think that would be a great sign that it's time to find someone to fill his void quick. We can't take the Dooley approach to O-lineman anymore and just not sign anyone in their place when we strike out on the top targets we are on. CBJ will have his hands full trying to convince some of these other OT prospects to come here now that we have slow balled them because of Richmond. Recruiting is just a brutal world, but in Butch we trust.

If Richmond chooses Ole Miss or gives UT a soft commitment, I'm guessing CBJ concentrates a tremendous amount of energy on trying to flip Chuma or Austin Clark.

UT just can't run the risk of not having another top-flight OT in the fold.

Chuma is highly doubtful and Austin Clark doesn't really profile as a OT as I remember.

No matter who he commits to, it will be a soft commit. He still plans to take official visits, no matter who he chooses on 9/9/14.

Remember people...these two teams PLAY EACH OTHER...whoever gets the verbal has to sweat that game out before NSD.

He can be part of Ole Miss where they might win 8-9 games in their best years or be part of UT where the ceiling is the national championship. His choice.

I agree, but there is something to be said by coming out publicly and announcing who he is committed to. Not to mention, Drew seems to have solid parental base that wouldn't let him take the word 'commitment' lightly. Whoever he commits to has the upper hand in getting his signature on a LOI.

This question sort of pains me to write...

We're obviously battling Ole Miss for Drew, Ole Miss plays Vandy this weekend and Drew announces his initial commitment next week...so, are we rooting for Vandy to beat Ole Miss Saturday?

After reading this again, it got me thinking. Considering how creative CBJ and Co. have gotten with recruiting up to this point, it should be rather fun to see what steps they take in order to win this one, starting with this weekend.

If he wants to go to Ole Miss and always be no better than 4th in SEC West and watch our Rise to the Top on TV instead of raising the trophy himself then its his loss.

This is why butch recruits regardless because you can't trust it until the signature is on paper. I'm glad we already have Hall, Boulware, Jones and Jackson that have potential to play Tackle. So bodies won't be the issue its just disappointing to lose a elite talent to mediocrity thanks to dirty ole miss

You guys are missing the point Ole Miss is surrounding the family with people who will influence his decision to sign with them. Same bull**** that has went down for years in Memphis. The absolutely sidesplitting hilarious part is they can spin some of these practices into a movie and people eat it up.

If you are referring to the Oher story, that was totally different. I was told OM isn't the only one trying things to get Richmond, but the other schools appear to be out.
