I was mainly referring to us secretly arming the Syrian rebels(ISIS) through Lybia.

The big issue isn't the fact we were arming the rebels. It's the fact that there were so many different factions it was hard to figure out who was our friend and who was our enemy.

We were and are very aware who we are arming. All of them are our friends who pose a threat to Iran.

Unfortunately, the Middle East is the exception to the rule of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

We have friends of convenience over there save Israel IMO. And even that's debatable.

So if you don't condemn the whole religion you are both liberal and in support of beheadings.

Lol, if I'm over the age of 40 and following that train of thought, then I think it'll be safe to say I'm a ****ing idiot and a skid mark on the underwear of logic.

A brief response from Dink.

The US can be involved without constantly meddling in internal affairs worth military might. The world economy does not need to be constantly strong armed by us. The rest of your Muslim crap is funny considering I was called naive

Also, JQA is not a founding father.
Talk about picking nits. Can we agree that he was a US statesman? Muslim atrocities long precede the US of A. So, what are you saying, that US foreign policy causes Muslims to cut people's heads off and fly planes into buildings and want Israel wiped off the map? Your reasoning doesn't hold water. Your assumption is that radical Muslims want to live and let live. They do not. The facts are already coming in that ISIS includes fighters who have come over from the US and Europe. The person who did the most recent beheading speaks in perfect English with no middle eastern accent.
Maybe it's the fact that I was personally threatened to have my throat slashed my a muslim. This was in 1990 before the 1st gulf war.

There is a difference between condemning a religious ideology and individuals. You blanketly condemn Christianity as being untrue and ridiculous. Does that mean you condemn all Christians? I would hope not. Islam has shown from its founding and throughout its history to be one of violence and atrocity.
In contrast, Christianity was founded in one of the most violent, carnal periods in the history of the planet. Yet, it's founding occurred without any revolt, or any of it's establishing texts advocating violence or bloodshed.
How can you judge a philosophy other than what it teaches? Are you saying you don't condemn the teachings of Islam?

I did but it would be interesting to get a thoughtful and coherent answer from him. He is a teacher and should have the skills to explain his views.

Why would a Christian dislike history? Probably because they've consistently been on the wrong side of it.

Within our own nation Christians were a major force in supporting the continuation of slavery, and used scripture to justify it.

Conservative Christians opposed womens suffrage and used scripture to justify their actions.

They currently oppose equal rights for homosexual couples, and once again try to use scripture to justify their bigotry.

There's the inquisition which was also justified through scripture, with such loving language in your holy books that proclaims blasphemy and witchcraft to be capital crimes.

There's the selling of indulgences by the Catholic Church.

In current history we have the rampant sexual abuse of children in both catholism and many Protestant sects.

Eric Rudolph, the Army of God, the KKK and countless other Christian hate groups who have blown up abortion clinics, killed doctors, and attempted ethnic cleansing all in the name of your god.

If you want to go old school with it: according to the text your just and loving god hardened the heart of the pharaoh so he could torture the Egyptians some more; he allowed satan to torture Job for being too good of a Christian; The eradication of the canaanites; Moses telling his men to kill everyone but keep the young girls for themselves.

I think that's enough for now.

Good question, and I'll answer it after correcting you.

I never said Christianity was ridiculous or even factually untrue. I simply don't follow its teachings or believe in its corresponding deities. I'd ask that you not emulate some of the mouthbreathing neckbeards who try and paint such a picture of me. I believe you put a lot more thought into your, well... thoughts than they do.

You can also judge a philosophy based on the ideologically driven actions carried out by the majority of its followers. Based on that, no, I don't condemn the teachings of Islam. Most of the Muslims I know and most of the Muslims I've met do not practice the extreme, violent teachings of the religion. You may say they (Oh, those four words are fun to say in succession) incorrectly follow Islam, or you could see it as a reformed belief. If Christianity has its denominations, can Islam also reform its own system?

the civil rights movement here happened because the majority of Americans (most claiming to be Christian at the time per US census) were ready for a change.

White kids marched with black kids.

We grew up.

We made changes.

The Muslim nations are stuck 500 years back, some 1000 years back, and show no signs of maturing.

Whenever one government topples there a new one comes in that has basically the same views.

The facts show the truth...the Muslim nations like it this way...women can be raped and unless men state she was as a witness she has no rights.

That is insane.

Obama needs to go back to Cairo to make another speech to the Mooslems. The first one was titled "A New Beginning".

What should the title of this one be?

Have you ever reviewed Old Testament rape laws? It's not any better. And our nation wasn't ready for change until after the industrial revolution when education levels skyrocketed.

How educated do you feel the average afghan to be?

Wow.

We can't stop comparing America of 100 years ago to the Middle East of TODAY

So what you are basically saying in your argument is the Middle East is stuck in the stone ages and are a bunch of Neanderthals ?

A lot can be said for education levels. Once people in this country became well-educated, Christianity had to adapt. Places in the Middle East are well behind in the education system
