Big "Myth" Destroyed

Welcome to the world of SeniorDrill
Yeah, and it all began with the thread, Who is this Point Guard?, when the sky was falling because we didn't have a point guard. That was followed by "Woe is Us" because we don't have bulk in the post! Really, it is all designed to do away with the negativity, rally the fan base, and have people believing we can go out have a winning record with the cast on hand and maybe even make the NCAA. I mean, isn't that what it's all about instead of Doom and Gloom? That is the world of SeniorDrill!

I agree with a positive outlook towards the season, but when you talk about Lopez being the starter, it makes people not take you seriously.

Brandon Lopez was never going to be the starting point guard. I do not know if SD is just trolling trying to stir things up or if he is really serious about BL. BL is probably a great kid and I hope he recovers quickly from his injury, but he was never going to be more than very limited role player at best.

BTW, has anyone calculated BL's pounds per inches yet? Good grief!

"Lopez was the lone pure point guard on Tennessee’s roster. New Tennessee Coach Donnie Tyndall had mentioned this summer that Lopez had an opportunity to earn much more playing time this season. Tyndall said in a university release that “obviously this is a huge blow to our team, as Brandon had worked himself into a position where he was competing for a starting role.” Comprendhe, senor?

What's he supposed to say?

You quoted what he said to the media. Many of us know what coach speak is....

If DT was being totally honest, it would go a little something like this: " I hate it for the kid. He gives 100% in practice, and he is a great teammate. But let's be honest, he's probably the third option at pg, and he brings little offensively. His loss will not be a factor in how many games we win or lose. "

Karl-Anthony Towns - 7'1" - 243 lb - 2.86ppi
Willie Cauley-Stein - 7'0" - 244 lb - 2.9ppi
Dakari Johnson - 7'0" - 265 lb - 3.15ppi
Trey Lyles - 6'10" - 255 lb - 3.11ppi
Marcus Lee - 6'10" - 215 lb - 2.62ppi
Derek Willis - 6'9" - 214 lb - 2.64ppi
Alex Poythress - 6'8" - 239 lb - 2.99ppi

This is an absolutely fascinating thread with new insight into statisical data that would seem meaningless to the casual fan! Who knew the PPI was so important. I do need help evaluating Kentucky's frontcourt. Does Towns paltry 2.86 ppi doom him to the bench? Is Poythress's 2.99 an indication he can't play the SF position? Please advise.

Reading this list sickens and saddens me.

I'm going to see if I have any eligibility left. My ppi is 2.72.

I have another friend who is at 3.3 who is still interested.

We are both 5'9".... does that matter?

You know what? Your coach speak BS is totally ludicrous. #1 you are calling our new head coach a liar. #2 Because of Child's injury Lopez was the only player who ran the point in summer drills until his injury. I know that for a fact.

1. Every coach in every sport uses coach speak. I wouldn't really call it lying. It's just a way to communicate with the media.

2. Chiles, Punter, and Mostella are better options at pg. Everyone knows this but you.

I'm almost convinced you are a troll.

This this this this this. SD has excessively proven he is just too thick headed to accept reality.

I'm almost convinced you are a Kentucky fan! Chris Dortch from article on Bonds:
"Bonds can’t possibly match the experience level of Lopez, who had worked hard as a walk-on waiting for his chance, played in 31 career games and was proving to new Tennessee coach Donnie Tyndall and his staff that he was capable of handling significant minutes." You guys with your "superior" basketball knowledge are in denial that you were so wrong! As a matter of fact, you cannot believe that you were so wrong! So what do you do! Oh, my God, it was impossible for Lopez to be the starter. He sure fooled you with his work ethic, eh?

Oh, by the way, a personal message for Braxton Bonds. Please don't make the mistake of walking on at Tennessee. You will never be good enough to be a starter, even after four years, in the eyes of some Vol "fans". Go somewhere else like Vanderbilt!

This is what I'm seriously starting to think, waiting for him to call for Mike Wezgyn to be the starter over on the football forum to confirm the suspicion.

I've been calling it that way for awhile. No way he posts all the ridiculousness he does without being a troll.
