Oh, I remember that. I believe one of the men arrested was a Knoxville News-Sentinel photographer that had a press credential allowing him to be on the field and was just doing his job.

I was at that game. We had seats on about the 5 yard line in the lower section (I believe on the south end) and with about 2 minutes left in the game we were looking out across the stadium and most of the Bammer fans were gone. Most everyone in our section and the end zone seats were Tennessee fans. Many of the team members, after the game, came over to the corner of the stadium where we were and celebrated with us.
There weren't that many fans on the field and I can remember that some of them were rather small in build and the cops ganged up on them and really roughed them up. A 140 pound student against two or three 220 pound cops didn't stand much of a chance.
