WAY off! Have you even ever been here? It's UT and it's not close.

CWGvol is right, there's a big UT contingent there. I'm not sure why Ole Miss doesn't own it, but I'll take it. I think Shelby County sends more students to UT than any other county outside of Knox. Of course, it's a large population.

I lived there and still travel there for work twice a month. Ole miss is by far the favorite. Bama MSU and Arkansas are up there too.

I still live here and Tennessee is #1 or 2 in Memphis. Yes there are a lot of fan bases in Memphis, but they don't have the support that Tennessee does. Ole Miss is hard to gauge because so many people that live in Mississippi work in Memphis.

I'll clarify by saying greater Memphis area. I rarely met a Tennessee fan, Ole Miss everywhere in Memphis . et many more MSU FAMs as well. Bama and UT seem about even from the people I've met.

I hope you come back and visit when we are back on top and you will see. It will be like like it was before 2008!! The way it really is here.

Not in my experience. I saw Mississippi school stuff everywhere. Saw as much Bama stuff and met as many Bama fans as I did Tennessee.

But see that's kinda the point. You still see just as many UT fans as other schools combined even during these bad times and bama being so good (which is mostly memphis fans on the wagon). When things are back to normal the real perception will be back. Like I said, y'all are right about it having the most fans from other schools ( due to location) but UT is still by far on top. That says a lot about VOLNATION here. I lived here my whole life and work in the heart of memphis. It's packed with UT fans.

Go to the suburbs and the private schools. With everything being equal, UT would most likely outdraw Mississippi State and Bama in a game here. Arkansas isn't close. OM is probably the one that could be close.

Respectfully disagree. My wife is an Ole Miss alum so aside from spending a fair amount of time in Oxford, which ain't too shabby I might add, I have been to a few OM alum events here. While they have a following, from my experience it's not that close. UT by a good margin. Aside from a fall weekend in Knoxville, it's hard to beat the scenery in the grove on Saturdays.

We always do outdraw them.... The city has said many times that UT games bring the most money and fans. That's why they got put back on the schedule.

I'd say Ole Miss is by far on top, not even near to being close. Maybe we just ran in different circles.

I was saying Bama and UT were tied for third most. It's a big city, so I imagine it depends where you live as to what you see more of.

Same here and very true, my wife went to ole miss. It's really not even close. I've also been to both ole miss and UT games when they play memphis and it's always by far more UT people at and around the games. If people could be in memphis for a UT game they would have no questions.

Yes... Taking everything into account it's by far UT. But you COULD drive around one day and see mostly another school like ole miss, but it's the exception not the norm.

Then, if you lump in Tipton and Fayette Counties (which people tend to do), it really isn't close. I believe both of those counties are included in the "Memphis Region" Alumni Chapter.

That's what kills me! At least jave has been here. Most seem to make this assumption and have never been here. I understand why, but the perception simply isn't true.

Well, that's at least what he is saying. Don't know how much truth there is to it. Had a college buddy that dealt cards in Tunica for several years. This was during the late 90s, early 2000s, but Memphis was more pro UT football than any of the other SEC schools and wasn't really that close.
