Most of my extended family lives in Ohio and are huge Buckeye fans. So I have the unfortunate situation of living in a state with the most obnoxious fans around and being related to the 2nd worst. They talk about Woody Hayes like Bammers talk about the Bear. They also spout about BCS bowl appearances like that's the standard. Never mention their record in those games.
I know they usually finish strong in recruiting but right now they are ranked 2nd in the Big Ten behind Penn State, but would be 10th if they were in the SEC.
You may enjoy this. I worked with a bug tOSU fan a few years back who talked smack all year leading up to the NC game with Florida despite being 0-8 at the time to SEC teams in bowl games. The day after Florida whipped up on them, my friend wore a red ball cap with the white O on the front. As soon as I saw him I said, "Nice hat. What does the O stand for? O and nine?" He just laughed and shrugged. Good guy, passed away a couple of years ago, way too young.
I don't know what it is but something about Ohio State really disgusts me.
It's almost like anytime I read or hear something about them I just see Urb's big, smug face.
Fixed.
Exactly, what I'm thinking... with Richmond probably being the tougher pull.... It's crazy to think we might have a better shot at getting another 5* from out of state(Tuttle) than an instate kid, but something about Richmond still worries me, I guess him being from Memphis doesn't help... to much anti-Vol sentiment out there....
Hopefully Butch gets it done.

Memphis really isn't instate. Anyone who knows Tennessee knows it's a tough place to pull kids from.
I am not going to sit here and say that it is easy. But, I say this every time this comes up. People in middle and east TN fail to realize how many Vols fans are in this city. There is huge support. There are is just alot of support for other schools, too.

The difference is that Knox and Nash are primarily UT towns. Memphis may have a lot of UT fans, but UT doesn't dominate the city like it does in Knox or Nash.

That's the distinction. But, when people throw around "it's not in-state" or "who cares about it?", they fail to realize that UT has many supporters in Memphis. Knoxville is a given, and Nashville has changed some with the population influx. I would be willing to bet that the Memphis Alumni Chapter is one of the biggest behind Knoxville, Nashville, and probably Atlanta.
