Totally irrelevant argument. South Carolina came first. You can't ***** about people calling us "UT jr" when "we were a school before they were even a state" and not respect that same argument for someone else.

It's childish.

If you want to think that... Fact is South Carolina is and always has been irrelevant in football. Never won any title of any kind. Sc, with multiple national championships, countless Conf titles and heisman winners, is a much more storied and established program. Which makes Carolina scjr, notwithstanding your time requirements. Our time on Texas is not the only measure by which we trump them, it is just one.

If you want to call others childish for refusing to look through a single prism then by all means, sing your song. Doubt few if any would argue that Carolina is not the jr of the two.... Using any measure through any prism.

How so? How is Texas the big UT?

I don't mean it as Texas is the big UT, I mean it as people think of Texas when they say UT. Besides the south, UT is more recognized as Texas than Tennessee.

Texas is the biggest football school in the NCAA. They have their own network and they are the state school in arguably the most popular football state in America.

This is the truth. For those that say South Carolina isn't relevant need to open their eyes. They are one of the SECs sexiest programs right now and took our spot on Game days pregame song.

It will take 3 years of winning 8+ games to get our respect back.

if it weren't for the Tennessee Volunteers Texas would be part of Mexico.

:horse: Are we ever going to let that one go? I get it, but it's a tired, irrelevant argument at this point. Fun fact, in Tampa, everyone says "UT" and is referring to the University of Tampa, a school no one on earth outside of the city even knows exists...

Everyone? Facts aren't eligible to be exaggerated.

I live in Dallas and University of Texas isn't even the biggest school in Dallas. So to say they are the biggest in the NCAA is crazy. BTW, they are already planning for their next coach as they hate Charlie Strong

Disagree with this. Dallas sports talk radio talks about UT Austin all the time with A&M second and Baylor third. Sure they hate Strong but they were also offering Saban $100 million. UT Austin is the team of the state in the biggest football state.

It's not irrelevant. That is how our University and State became the VOLUNTEERS. That fact will always be relevant. :hi:

I was born in Dallas, and IMO, it was the biggest for years. I agree that other schools in the area have gotten better (i.e. TCU, Baylor, and even A&M). But, the fact that Dallas is 3 hours from Austin and still gets the pub makes it a big deal.

Yes, everyone, minus me.

That's a lie then. I've lived in Tampa. No one gives a damn about the university of Tampa. In fact, in two and a half years, I heard about it once on the news.

Also, it wasn't referred as UT in any conversations I've had about the university while in Tampa and talking to natives.

Ideally IMO, I hope Worley knocks it outta the park this year and stays healthy and RS Dobbs and then he follow suit the next 3 years given Dormady a RS his freshman year. That with the recruiting the staff is doin could eliminate our QB problems for several years. If I'm wrong sorry but tryin to be optimistic.

What worries me is Dobbs getting hurt next year. We won't have many options

No more WC, IMO Todd. That's about the only off-topic article I wish to discuss on this forum most of the time lol

As JC said the interview was great. Got his 15 minutes of fame internationally. Hard to understand, but it sounded like he said he "roasted" his opening tee shot long and down the middle. :)

Was it Roy McAvoy? The great ball striker from Salome, Texas??

The critical opening phrase of this poem will always be the grip. Which the hands unite to form a single unit by the simple overlap of the little finger. Lowly and slowly the clubhead is led back. Pulled into position not by the hands, but by the body which turns away from the target shifting weight to the right side without shifting balance. Tempo is everything; perfection unobtainable as the body coils down at the top of the swing. Theres a slight hesitation. A little nod to the gods. That he is fallible. That perfection is unobtainable. And now the weight begins shifting back to the left pulled by the powers inside the earth. It's alive, this swing! A living sculpture and down through contact, always down, striking the ball crisply, with character. A tuning fork goes off in your heart and your balls. Such a pure feeling is the well-struck golf shot. Now the follow through to finish. Always on line. The reverse C of the Golden Bear! The steel workers' power and brawn of Carl Sandburg's. Arnold Palmer!
