'15 TN OT Drew Richmond (Former Ole Miss commit)

The recruiting process, while there are some that wallow in it, is a taxing drain for most. He has said as much himself in being tired of it. He may take one or two OVs but he's gassed and IMO will shut it down sooner than planned.
Yup. Plus, he didn't just have a junior season where he blew up after. He's been a top-flight prospect for a while so he's been entrenched in this process for a long time.

“It went good. My parents got to see it, so they enjoyed everything,” “They really enjoyed it. My dad and (Tennessee) coach (Butch) Jones talked about watches and shoes the whole day. He had on some, like, gold rolex, and my dad noticed it, and they just started going back and forth. They just wanted to know about everything as a whole (at Tennessee).”

“I’m going back and forth between one and two,” he said. During his weekend trip to Tennessee, he said he “hung out with all the coaches” on Jones’ staff and spent plenty of time with Vols senior running back Marlin Lane. “I think (Jones and I) have a nice relationship. He told me that he needs me,” Richmond said. “They told me the best thing that could happen is Dontavius (Blair) going to left (tackle), me at right (tackle) and Coleman (Thomas) at center.”

“It’s cool to have a friend up there,” Richmond said, referring to injured freshman lineman Charles Mosley. “And I’m friends with a lot of guys (there). I was joking with (freshman defensive lineman) Derek (Barnett). I said, ‘I knew you before (freshman wide receiver) Vic (Wharton) and all those guys knew you.’”
Before the end of Richmond’s visit, he started to hear rumors that he had made a silent commitment to the Vols, but he refuted them with a post on his Twitter account. “I saw it on the Internet, and I’m like, ‘No, I’m not a silent commit to anywhere,’” he said.

hmmm...

Blair at LT
Thomas at C
Richmond at RT

Blair, Crowder, Jackson and Kerbyson are all JRs.

They could move Mack to a guard position, but that means Jackson or Kerbyson become 2nd string. JW what this means about our current guys

Let a few of these 15 OL if not all RS

Recruiting pitch I would say. It's not like they are proven commodities anyways though.ATP

Y'all talkin' about RiFF RAFF?

He seems like a pretty legit dude. He's from Houston so I'd say he's probably an A&M fan.

That being said if he can throw for 3000 yards and 30+ touchdowns I'd love for him to be our quarterback.

Luckily Butch Jones is the Tennessee head coach... Kiffin's plan failed rather miserably (recruiting riffraff) :)

Not judging a book by its cover, so to speak. kiffin thrived on recruiting actual riffraff at UT.

Riff raff is used in every area of life to mean "not very good." You're in a small minority who probably isn't very in touch with modern day connotations of words if you think it's a universally derogatory and offensive term.

Edit I don't mean that offensively, my parents aren't in touch with modern day connotations either, doesn't make them dumb, just some people don't keep up with how the use and meaning of words change from generation to generation.

At least if my generation insults someone, they stand by it :)
Not to make it personal (now I am imitating you), but it appears that your attempt to put a positive spin on the term "riffraff" may be due to you being categorized as such. Maybe? :)

Being from Memphis, recruiting my home town always makes me nervous. There always seems to be a problem with the Memphis recruit or they do not live up to the hype (seems like they believe the hype and ease off on the hard work). The unofficial Motto of Memphis is: "Half-ass or Not at All!"
:)

Regardless, I really hope that Drew Richmond commits to the Vols. :salute:

This. The most logical way it works out is that Richmond redshirts and takes over as a RS freshman. That is still very early as a starter in the SEC.

"It was good to get up there with my parents. They really enjoyed it," Richmond said. "They were just able to see the connections that coach Jones and Bob Welton have with the NFL. They enjoyed everything. My dad and coach Jones didn't even talk about football. They were talking about clothes and watches because they both like that type of stuff. They were going back-and-forth about their watches and stuff."

"I Know they want me. I guess that's a good feeling to know that they want me and they need me," Richmond said. "They are telling me how it would be ideal if they could use Dontavius (Blair) at left tackle and me at right and move Coleman to center. Then when Dontavius leaves Coleman (Thomas) could move over to left tackle," Richmond said.

"Honestly, I hate it. I'm ready for it to be over with," Richmond said. "I guess I'm just ready to slow it down a bit. People have all their speculations and all that type of stuff and that's why I'm ready for it to be over."

"I kind of know where I'm going but once I commit there are going to be five schools, maybe, that I'm still going to interact with because you never know what's going to happen," Richmond explained. "I've seen too many things happen that I know I shouldn't completely shut my recruitment down."

So, basically his Dad and Butch hit it off about watches and that's why he let the cat out of the bag at the Crowne Plaza.
