IRS admits to targeting Conservative groups

Saw this post pretty insightful:

The odds of winning the Florida lottery are 1 in 22,957,480.
The odds of winning the Powerball is 1 in 175,223,510.
The odds of winning Mega Millions is 1 in 258,890,850.

The odds of a computer disc drive failing in any given month are roughly one in 36. The odds of two different drives failing in the same month are roughly one in 36 squared, or 1 in about 1,300. The odds of three drives failing in the same month is 36 cubed or 1 in 46,656.

The odds of seven different drives failing in the same month (like what happened at the IRS when they received a letter asking about emails targeting conservative and pro Israeli groups) is 37 to the 7th power = 1 in 78,664,164,096. (that's over 78 Billion)

In other words, the odds are greater that you will win the Florida Lottery 342 times than having those seven IRS hard drives crashing in the same month.

What are the odds when you include the fact that at least 3 of those hard drives were directly related to this issue? The guy in Cinci, Lerner and her bosses' Chief of Staff?

The AG will be out of office when Obama is. If a GOP wins the WH the new AG may pursue, however we have a history of the new administration protecting the last.

We have a precedent of the new admin trashing the old one at all costs now.

So? Such thoughts/discussions/remarks are commonplace.

Just a coinkydink that it occurred a few days after she learned the IG report was going to nail the IRS for targeting?

If it's commonplace don't you think that would be be policy rather than this particular timing along with asking to see if the instant messaging system could be searched as well?

The judge in the Judicial Watch case has ordered the IRS to file a declaration addressing the lost emails and the efforts made to recover them. It's due in 30 days.

The IRS broke the news that an investigation into the matter by the Treasury Dept IG is underway. Lest this appear to be a positive development in the case, the IRS attorney was using the investigation as an excuse to not comply with the judge's order, as it "might interfere with the IG's investigation." Judge Sullivan was unimpressed by this argument.

In other words, can the IRS get anyone to commit perjury?

I was just wondering if LG could admit it.

But I think 69s answer is probably more accurate lol

If LG hasn't Lernered by now he never will. He's a lib lost cause. All libs are a lost cause. It's sad you have to hope for the worst in order to have a chance to fix anything.
