No evidence of a crime =no prosecution.

Sorry, boys, you keep coming up short.

Yeah I know, silly thinking people who break the law should be punished. Crazy to think that it should be expected, but, that it is not expected to happen.

It's some pathetic and truly sad times GV.

Expecting the IRS's internal investigation, or the DOJ's complete non-investigation, to actually produce legit results is like taking OJ Simpson at his word when he committed to finding the real killer.

It's funny to me how far people go to defend the IRS. That's the one organization that everybody used to loathe.

On that note - it used to be a unifying notion to complain about taxes. Even the Beatles sang about it. Now the looney left questions your humanity and patriotism if you complain about taxes.

What a world.

I think taxes are too high.....

.... on the middle class.

And too low on the investment class.

I though you guys were all about elected officials being held to the same standard as anyone else. She's making sure income gets reported. I expected some feigned outrage, but pointing to this email as proof of much of anything is just absurd.

Abuse of power is the "standard"?

Targeting a sitting US Senator for an audit due to someone else's clerical mistake is the "standard"?

Just a coincidence that Grassley happens to be a Republican too?

Interesting perspective you've got there.

One of the few people who have worked for this pathetic agency that I can genuinely call an American hero. RIP:

TaxProf Blog: Death of Former IRS Commissioner Johnnie Walters, Refused President's Request to Audit His Enemies

He was a Republican who refused to allow Nixon to use the agency to pursue his political opposition.

Too bad we have yet to see anyone in this Administration demonstrate similar patriotism. For Obama and the Democrats, the IRS and its power is a necessary tool to intimidate and control those he views as his enemies.

Not sure what its going to take to end the partisan BS - it is pretty disappointing to me that no Dems (to my knowledge) have publicly acknowledged concerns about what went on at the IRS.

Koskinnen's attitude/demeanor leads me to more questions about what the IRS is hiding.

It's clear that the Democrats in the Congress are OK with Obama making his own laws and using the force of the government to punish people who don't agree with his agenda.

Maybe they all condone it. Perhaps some fear stepping away from the party to defend their own principles. Either way, it's a sad commentary on the state of their party, as they are no longer looking out for the interests of the people.

Judging from how many of the pathetic, brain-dead Democrats on the Oversight Committee actually apologized to Koskinnen, I share your disappointment.

The thing they fail to realize is that with every purposeful attempt to lie or stonewall the truth, they are driving the national sentiment a series of steps closer to consensus on a tax reform plan they will not like.

Koskinnen did them no service. All he managed to accomplish was to build consensus, even from the likes of the LA Times and Fournier of the National Journal, for further investigation.

And to further the point, Issa is now emboldened to go for a bit more than a few years' worth of emails:

Oversight Chair Darrell Issa subpoenas 28 years of records – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

What a tangled web this White House weaves...because it constantly practices to deceive.

Koskinnen along with the rest of this Executive Branch are sociopaths as are most statists. The states really need to organize a Constitutional Convention. It is our only hope.

I'll retire one day and live off of my 401k, yes. But it won't be so much that I can pay tiny capital gains tax, relative to earned income.
