IRS admits to targeting Conservative groups

Uh oh...

From today's WSJ

So, even if Lerner's hard drive crash was 100% coincidental, her emails should have been under a litigation hold. No matter what the policy was on recycling the backups, it should not have been followed until the Z Street case was complete.

I'm going to assume the Z-Street group was not based in Cincinnati.

I though you guys were all about elected officials being held to the same standard as anyone else. She's making sure income gets reported. I expected some feigned outrage, but pointing to this email as proof of much of anything is just absurd.

1-That is not her job!
2- Preemptive audit? You sure you want to have the IRS looking into your income PRIOR to filing?

How do you breathe with your head so far up there?

I absolutely believe in holding elected officials to the same standard as anyone else.

I would hope that the IRS wouldn't send my file for examination before knowing if I even got paid or had a chance to report the income. I hold Grassley to that same standard.

Remember that question I asked you the other day? The one whether you were representing her or not?

Same still applies...

You are intentionally misrepresenting this.

No income was received to be reported.

The IRS does not audit you before the event they are investigating occurs. There is nothing to investigate. Her deputy clearly spelled that out but for some reason you can't fathom that.
