Whatever happened to naming student section?

I remember a while back seeing this posted...

Name Our Home

I didn't know if it was just a fan made thing or if it was legit or what...But we are are the end of the "voting period" and voting never even actually started that I know of.

They should name our student section "the 1%ers" because that's the percentage of the student body who comes to the games these days. Let alone staying past the 3rd quarter.

I went to school at UT from 2008-2012.

I missed 1 game in my career there, and it was against Kentucky thanksgiving weekend.

I went week in and out to watch us get blasted.

You can suck it.

I was right there with you over the same years. Missed just that one game as well. It was rough hearing the victorious schools' chants from the upper deck. Its about damn time we took back our home field advantage.

Call it the "No Blue Haired Old Ladies Allowed" section, take out all the seats so the students have to stand, and issue megaphones to everybody who shows up for a game.

It's a little difficult to get a strong student showing when we haven't been to a bowl game since I was a freshman. With that being said, we have an extremely strong student section for the quality of play the past 5 years. And finally, I can't tell you how many games, bball especially, that I see all the older people bailing a quarter early. I'm not saying students don't do it but to say that our section is week is a joke.

People who think UT students don't support the FB team not only show their tail but also their ignorance.

Whenever I go to games with friends that are still students we always cram into the lower bowl. Doesn't matter if our tix are in the upper bowl, we find a way to cram in. Makes the top look less full

We used to do that as well. It was still full in the upper deck because they issued SRO's back then.

And, I think your class was the first class that had to pay, also. So yeah, I can understand your bitterness...
