I heard on 3hl that Fortenberry is coming out with a story about this. So it's confirmed that he seems to be enamored with Knoxville! They said we lead by a wide margin!

What news? Until he commits, it doesn't mean a whole lot. I'm excited about it, but he's named a new leader each time he visits somewhere. I also don't know what you're trying to prove with this whole "Gibson haters" shtick. Just because some of us don't buy the notion that we are taking 3 QB's in this class, doesn't mean we don't want the guy. I just don't personally see how it could work.

It could be that JJ is asked to start out at safety first, and if he's not down with that, then he de-commits. It could be that CBJ asks both of them to battle for one QB spot and the loser agrees to move to another position where their prospects of making an impact is greater and NFL prospects are brighter.

Who knows? We will probably be guessing at this for some time.

You still running with the whole only 2 qbs thing?

"He said the Vols are back in the lead and by a good margin. He said he loved hanging out with the coaches and really enjoyed spending time on campus and said he is very comfortable at Tennessee now. Im writing up the story and it should be live here in the next bit."

Butch is an absolute beast at recruiting. I think he's only second to Saban now, and I'm not sure how much longer Saban will be able to hold him off.

Butch is amazing.

I do wonder more details on what exactly Butch has told him re: position & Dormady. But idc. Just reel him in.

Recruiting wise, I wouldn't say anyone is better.

The second part does seem a bit much, though.

Look at the situation that CBJ inherited and how well he's recruiting now, I don't think it's a stretch to say he's the 2nd best recruiting HC in the SEC.

I mean I thought Dormady was a Bama lock when they offered at their 'QB tryout'. That was very impressive by Butch to beat Saban and Kiffin.

We have two qbs. We have one with the full court press on that we want as a qb. If he comes that makes three. Come on Cletus keep up.
He hasn't committed yet, so how can you claim we are taking 3? Their isn't anyway to keep 3 QB prospects from the same class happy. It's hard to keep 2 onboard.

Like I said, I have always pulled for us to get him....I just don't see how this would work if both JJ and TG were committed. It's kind of like CBJ taking more than 25 last class....maybe he's like "We'll figure it out when we get there."

But again, he hasn't committed yet, and if he holds to his original timeline, it's a long, long, long way to NSD

Wish God would take care of the world hunger thing first tho. :ermm:

There's a lot of things the big man upstairs could fix, but if He wouldn't mind throwing just a small sliver of good luck towards East Tennessee sometime soon I think it'd be greatly appreciated.

"It was great. Everything was just perfect. I'm getting used to the campus now and I probably know my way throughout it," Gibson said. "I had great time spending time with the coaches and the players and being comfortable with them. I had a great time. I had a lot of bar-b-q, too. They have some great bar-b-q."

"It was great. We didn't talk about football. We just played pool and were sitting around chilling and relaxing and talking to coach Jones and coach Bajakian and coach Z and just hanging out," Gibson said. "It was just spending time with the coaches and the players and just playing video games with the guys and playing ping pong and playing pool and just talking to each other and just having fun four those four days."

"I switched it up and Tennessee is definitely the leader right now. They are the leader by a (good) margin right now," Gibson explained. "I feel comfortable with the players now and I met a lot of new faces and a lot of guys and coaches. They are all great people in Knoxville Tennessee and it was awesome."

"It was great not to be pressured all the time and have to worry about committing. It was a great time. I felt relaxed and felt comfortable and I didn't feel rushed at all," Gibson said.

Said he didn't talk to the staff about picking up our 2nd QB commit, but he will though. Still plans to play out his recruitment. Take his 5 OVs, play through his season, and then commit after.

The cool thing here is, we really aren't waiting on a decision anymore.

If we get him, fantastic.

If we don't, we still have 2 QB's.

I like where we are at, currently.

What I think is the most impressive right now is the fact that even though we just took a second quarterback commitment with Dormady, we now lead for TG by a good margin. That is ridiculous. I honestly thought we would drop out of his list completely and this thread would die. I'm tellin' ya, there's something special about this Butch Stones Jones. I don't think I have been as excited as a vol fan in my lifetime with the direction and leadership of our program. GBMFO!

I guess that recruiting director for SuperPreps knows his stuff after all. He CB's Gibson to the Vols in the middle of the Dormady commit. Next thing we hear is some sports journalist saying not to read into the CB... maybe he should've talked to the SuperPreps dude before dismissing the CB.
