'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

DL- Jones, Mckenzie, Settle, Tuttle, Sweat
LB- Cherry, Bates, or insert another player.
Secondary- Sutton, TK, Randolph, Berry

This could work, right?

There is no player on the team that will keep Rashaan Gaulden off the field in 2015 and beyond.

As much as I hate to say it a haul like that would rival Florida a few years back they killed it on dl that year.

McKenzie, Settle, Tuttle and Jones would blow any Florida D line in recent history away... Which of course would mean ANY D line in their history at all.

Actually, it could potentially be even better than that, when you consider that Andrew Butcher, who is already committed, and Kyle Phillips are 4-star defensive end prospects who are ranked 182nd and 172nd by Rivals.com. The five-star Josh Sweat is a legitimate possibility, plus Kahlil McKenzie, of course, at defensive tackle, along with Shy Tuttle and Tim Settle. In the extraordinarily unlikely event that we could actually find a way to sign all of them, that would be a defensive line class of epic proportion.

Please don't get everyone's hopes up.. That haul more than likely won't happen, but even a couple of those pieces with our recent w/l records would be absolutely fantastic.

2010

Powell, Easley, Floyd

Pretty hard to beat 3 five stars
I was looking at Easley's stats leading up to the draft, and I was surprised to find he was relatively smallish for a DT. About 6'2" and 280lbs. I thought Powell was a DE?

If we land Sweat and Phillips as well as those DT's, we'll be noted for having one of the best in CFB in a long time. It is extremely hard to rack up that much talent in 2-3 classes...much less 1.

Probably be a battle though between Moseley, Payne, Gaulden, Riyahd Jones, and Foreman for that final spot

The guys you mention battling for the final starting slot could easily be better than many teams' entire starting secondary!

I can't wait to see Gaulden lay some lumber. Apparently he is one of the hardest hitting defenders in quite some time!!

Every time I think of a hard hitting DB, my mind instantly wants to compare their hits to the slobber-knocker Eric Berry put on Knowshon Moreno. That's one of my all-time favorite defensive plays.

Where is Cortez McDowell going to be playing at?

McDowell has said he intends to begin at one of the safety positions but knows he may grow into a LB. I think he would be a very good FS, but my guess is he develops into an OLB as he puts on weight.

Please re-read my comment: "could potentially be," "a legitimate possibility," and "In the extraordinarily unlikely event" hardly qualify as a prediction, let alone an iron-clad guarantee.
