Riley Ferguson appears to be gone

So let me see if I follow. If race never enters the equation of who I want to play QB at Tennessee, but then a guy tells me I'm a racist if I didn't/don't think the black guy is the best choice.... and I take offense to being called a racist, then I'm an idiot? Is that about it?
Unfortunately, that is correct. You understand perfectly. Your indoctrination is not yet complete. They have to get your mind right.

I'd just like to announce that I'm white....and I wanted the black guy (I think his name is Dobbs?) to start over Ferg...just my two pennies.

Don't you know all the UT fans who refuse to acknowledge the 98 NC because they had a black QB?

No? That's cause there ain't any.

There is no question Ferg had the best arm. Great winning tradition as a HS QB. Plus very well thought of by Dilfer at the Elite 11. Facts are CBJ went after Dobbs. Vol fans will believe what they want. The facts are that Ferg was placed in tougher positions in practice situations.

I've also seen how employees and often the managers of Fantastic Sams hair salons rush up to tell an African-American they don't cut Black people's hair and to get them out of the door as fast as possible. .

:lolabove: Serious? Man, that was strange.

Best scenario this year is Worley starts all year doesn't get hurt and Dobbs redshirts. Peterman can come in for mop up duty. We recruit 2-3 QB's in 2015 and Dobbs starts for 2-3 years wins an NC, the Heisman, and college Jeopardy in 2016.

No.Unsurprisingly you missed the point. It is a factor to some. Maybe not you personally, but a portion of the fan base. If you aren't one who thinks like that why be offended? No one said every single anti Dobbs guy was racist. No one said KBVol was a racist. Only that it was a factor in SOME fans opinions. To think it was not a factor to any portion of our fan base is idiotic. People want to claim that since they supposedly don't think like that then no one else does. That is false. Or maybe they get so mad because they do think like that and are mad people bring it up. As they say " A hit dog will holler".

There are also a lot of black families that refuse to let their sons play for a white coach, and it greatly outnumbers the people that wanted to see Riley because he is white.

If you are going to point out small %'s and exceptions, do it fairly. You know as well many more black families pull for a black qb to win the job so they can watch him perform and be proud. Again, it far outnumbers the few rednecks with confederate flags on their wifebeaters that want to see Riley because he is a tatted cracker.

But not over the other 2 whites guys? You're a racist. 😊😉😳

I think you have that backwards in who outnumbers who. Most players in football and bball play for White coaches. I acknowledge that some do for sure though. I know we have way more biased White people than Black people who post on here and live in this area seeing as East TN is over 80% White. I don't think someone who would be considered a "redneck" is automatically a racist but some are. There are plenty of "high class" or wealthier Whites who are racist and plenty in this area fit that description and post. What I think is dumb is people saying that there is no way that some of the hate Dobbs got is because of that. RF didn't get all the vitriol Dobbs did. People just said wait before crowning him like many wanted to. Dobbs was criticized even when he did something good or in any positive thread that was about him.

I agree with one point of your argument: Black families do want black athletes to succeed. However, generally, they don't bash other players because they want to see the black athlete. There's a difference.

I think Dobbs throwing 6 picks to 2 TDs along with that terrible Vandy game is what hurt him most in the eyes of the fans. Not his skin color.

I don't have an argument really. Just pointing out if one wants to point out the 1% exceptions, do it in all directions. Problem is people aren't objective enough to do it.

The people playing the race card have been on the board long enough to remember all the buzz caused when Dobbs committed. Everyone talked about how intelligent he was, his arm, his athleticism, etc. heck I remember a who's your QB poll before the season and Dobbs was the favorite. I love Dobbs as a person but honestly he was underwhelming on the field. That's why most wanted Riley after the season. It's frustrating because Dobbs was the overwhelming favorite over Riley when he was signed, and when he played poorly and the people wanted Riley here comes the race card. I hope Dobbs has improved and is ready to start in 2015 at the latest

Still beating the race drum I see. What's going on with you? I mean you are turning every thread into some sort of race baiting argument. Is there a job you are angling for or something?

Throw lots of TD's and no int's and no one will care what color you are, except orange and white.

I think you are just as prejudice as the people you are complaining about. I would even go as far as saying a bigot based on your constant crusade to turn every thread into a race war. What would make you happy in your world? For white people to sign a contract to never play basketball or football again? I'm all about equal rights, but I don't care for people always crying foul so they can attempt to get their way every time something doesn't go their way. That seems to sum you up to a tee.

I will tell you that I will support whoever wins the quarterback job. I have no deep felt feelings about any of them, but if I had to put them in order of who I would like to see play, here it is.

First would be Worley. Second would be Peterman, and third Dobbs, 4th was Ferguson. Here is my reasoning. This is Worley's last chance. This is the exact reason that I wanted Jerry Colquitt , Jonathan Crompton, and Jim Maxwell to play and be successful in their last year. They paid their dues.

Secondly I would like to see Peterman get redemption and be successful just to show the naysayers on here. Thirdly, Dobbs because he seems like a well rounded young man, and has 3 years remaining as does Peterman. I really don't care which of them starts next year as long as Peterman gets another chance. I would like to see Peterman at least play some, only because he had such a disastrous game last year. Dobbs has shown some flashes of being a good qb, and I feel pretty sure that he will play quite a bit in the future.

I put Ferguson last, and had him there before this latest deal. There was an attitude about him that reminded me of Bray and Clausen, and that turned me off. He also did not seem to be as likeable (in his interviews)to me as the others. Having said that, if he was the best quarterback, I would have supported him.

Like I said a hit dog will holler. If its not you why be offended?

Also show me one thread where I was the first person to bring race up. I do weigh in when someone else brings it up.

Doesn't matter what you said. Your opinion is just that, your opinion. It bears no additional weight. And I don't holler. I bite back and generally a lot harder than the original person's bite.

And show you a thread. How about this thread? My issue with you is that you make something out of nothing and attempt to label people what they are not. Which tells me the race problem is with you not them. And that's a concept that seems to escape you. You feel anyone that challenges your agenda filled nonsense is racist. I have an issue with cyber numb skulls inappropriately labeling good people something they are not based on oversensitive feelings.

Another thing. I deal in what people can prove not what they think or make up to fit their argument. So I'd also like to see where you derive your statistics from that you talk about so definitively. Back up your comments. Or if not continue on your quest to be the message board race baiter. Because without facts that's all you really are.

This is officially the dumbest crap I have seen on VN. If there has been any incidence of racial preference being expressed here, it was pro-Dobbs due to several idiots thinking we landed the next Tee simply because of the color of Dobb's skin. Anyone not see those comments? I assure you those exist.

So if you want(ed) Fergy over Dobbs, then you are racist, but if you wanted Worley or Peterman over Dobbs, then all is well?

How about we campaign for white receivers and running backs over black? How stupid would that be? Just as stupid as caring what color the QB is who feeds them the ball.

Good to see many people call this idiocy out.

So you win either way. If you cry racist in a nice general, broad manner and no one responds to say "no, you're wrong", then you got away with it. On the other hand, if you cry racist and someone says "no, you're wrong, I'm not a racist, color has nothing to do with my decision or thought", then you get to act incredulous and ask "if you're not a racist then why are you acting all offended? Why are you acting guilty? You got something to hide?" That's the technique and it appears you have it down pat.

I hate the race card game.

Great points. There's ZERO evidence. The overwhelming majority on here just want a good, solid QB to win the job and go win games and never give their skin color a thought.

Evidently a few on here disagree with that statement. Go ask lexkyvol about any evidence....he's the one who started the race card talk.
