'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Boerne (Texas) QB*Quinten Dormady*tweets he's received an offer from Alabama on Tuesday following his showing at the Tide's camp The. 6-foot-4, 208-pounder participated in both sessions on Tuesday, throwing for offensive coordinator*Lane Kiffin*and the Tide staff.

"It went really good and (the offer) means a lot," Dormady told BOL.

Dormady, who also holds offers from the likes of Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, TCU, Indiana, and Kentucky is only the second non-committed QB to glean an offer from the Tide. He missed his junior season due to injury but has had a strong spring camp circuit. Dormady ranks as the no. 174 overall prospect and no. 5 pro-style QB by 247Sports.

In all seriousness, if Lane Kiffin's evaluation led to the offer, I don't want. He's proved he's a QB cooler.

Crompton and his family credited his improvement to an assistant not Lane Kiffin. Can't remember the guy's name though.

Crompton spent just one season with Kiffin (2009), but the then-senior Tennessee quarterback enjoyed his best season with the Volunteers. He credits it all to Kiffin.

"He helped me in a tremendous way," Crompton said. "There were a lot of things that went on in Knoxville. Coach Kiffin came in and kind of said, 'You know what? None of this stuff matters. We're going to go out here and work our tails off. I've got your back, you've got my back and we'll work as one.'"

I can't stand the bastard but, according to Crompton, that's not how he tells it.

Matt Barkley turned himself into a fourth rounder.

Except, from what I read, kiffin advised him to come back despite him being a virtual 1st round lock because kiffin didn't like the other QBs on his roster. kiffin was selfish and put his own interests ahead of the athletes, or Kiffin was kiffin.

He also told Eric Berry to leave. Nothing wrong with telling a kid to come back. Kids should get their degree.

I hate that argument. You can get your degree even if you leave... It's not like you're never allowed back!

Also, it is wrong when it cost the kid millions of dollars.

Only time will tell. Pretty bad examples though, as those guys probably wouldn't have got their degree pro or not.

They left college early to go to the draft. There are many examples of athletes like them that have to go pro.

But the reasons are not the same. Those guys left because there is a good chance they would have not have made it out of college if they had stayed. Basically they had no choice. Obviously guys like that wont be coming back.

But a lot of the guys that leave early because they are going to make a lot of money find themselves back on college campuses.

There are a lot of them who don't step back in a classroom. I'd bet it was five that don't to one who does.

Perhaps so, but Barkley never had the physical skills people were led to believe. He was simply part of the USC hype machine. If he had left as a junior, there is a chance he may have been drafted higher than the 4th rd, but he would have been picked apart by scouts and analysts similar to Teddy Bridgewater. His combine performance would have revealed what he really is. He would have never been a 1st rd pick, and probably not a 2nd rd pick. Andrew Luck and RG3 were in that draft. Brandon Weeden was also a 1st rd pick in that draft. Nick Foles was a 3rd rounder.

Russell Wilson as well.

Matt Barkley sat in front of me at the Wisconsin-UT Outback Bowl. Badger fans were cool; Barkley was not. He was obnoxious, about my age at the time, in my face during every big play, talking a lot of smack. I was very, very close to clocking him. Of course, I didn't know it was him, but at the end of the game they brought him on the field and recognized him as the top HS QB recruit going into college. I wonder to this day why he was supporting Wisconsin. Cool story, I know.

That's very surprising as he has always come across as very polite and unassuming in every single media engagement I have seen him in. I'm not saying I don't believe you. It just seems very out of character for him based on what I've seen. Perhaps he matured quickly at USC.
