Just a thought...

This season might be disappointing. Replacing every lineman is an incredibly tall task. Games we think we might hang around in could be really depressing. Obviously, there is awesome potential everywhere, but some expectations may be too high. This is understandable considering how enjoyable following this 2014 class will be. The excitement distracts us from the reality that our depth is young and fresh in a conference that demands a different roster construction. Lack of continuity and lack of success from our past two coaches leaves us still playing with a weakened deck.
Further, despite the possibility of disappointment, I think if CBJ can magician + vision his way into a brilliant 2015 class, we are all set to be competing for years to come. No matter our 2014 record, if everyone can just stay calm while butch stays the course, we will love the results. Love them.

We will need to be at least a little successful this year to continue to recruit well though

2014 is simple for me. No excuses. No crazy expectations. Don't care how many OL/DL kids need to step up. 6 wins and make a bowl game. That is the bottom line.

Love the thought process, and I honestly don't put anything past Butch on the recruiting trail. With that said, there have already been a few recruits mention that they will be watching Tennessee this year to see what the product looks like on the field. So, I think results do matter a little this year. 6-6 with a bowl win HAS TO HAPPEN!

One of... OU, Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Alabama, Mizzou. That's very doable.

"Undefeated or gtfo" ~ everyone in the FF

Saying a bowl WIN must happen is a little crazy to me. Would be nice to just win 2 of those I mentioned.

I think we need to have a record that is over .500. Will 6-6 and just making it to a bowl game be enough, even with a bowl loss? Maybe, but recruits will still see us as having a losing record, and opposing coaches will use it against us to say we really aren't making much progress. 7-6 or better has more eye appeal.

Utah State, Chattanooga, Kentucky, Arkansas State, Vandy, and Missouri are wins in my book.

Florida and Ole Miss are possible.

Anything can happen in Georgia and South Carolina but less likely.

Alabama and Oklahoma are long shots.

I'm saying 7-5

This is exactly how I see it too.

I will say 6-6 still. Mizzou seems like the most likely "toss up" win.

I may get to go to the Ole Miss game, so I'm
pretty stoked.

A LOT of predictions of blake Barnett flipping from ND to Oregon today... How does everyone think that would effect the QB dominos?

SEC East Champs are locks? I think they're beatable, but id have them in the maybe column.

It's a cancer. A 6 win season would do this program well. 8 wins next year IMO.

10+ in 2016, with a top 10 ranking and competing for a playoff berth.

That team will be the most talented Vols squad since 2001, IMO.
