Riley Ferguson appears to be gone

You stole everything from Steve Jobs...and now you donate 5000 to playground funds while paying 14 mil for a Da Vinci sketch. :rtfm:

Surely you jest? You can't really be knocking the world's biggest philanthropist? He donates like 2 billion dollars a year and has a foundation that will continue to do so for many more lifetimes lol.

From my understanding about CBJ he embraces QB battles.

Plus, I think the coaches were somewhat thinking that Peterman would be the one that would transfer instead of Fergy.

You should need as few reminders as possible that CBJ's "major" head coaching experience was at Cincy, where he went a very pedestrian 23-14, including a loss to Derek Dooley. Be hopeful, optimistic, and supportive, but I am not convinced that he's the guy to turn this around. And I could give two rips about anything he did at Cincinnati.

"I don't care what he did, but this is what he did that makes me doubt him."

This follows VN logic perfectly.

Not sure but I think at one time there was a GUI called GEM. I dimly seem to recall they wanted sue gates for ripping off the concept and code. I don't remember the eventual outcome of the tiff. At the time I was suffering as a Deskmate user. you maybe right about the Apple connection because I remember seeing their GUI before i saw Windows. And there was something similar for Xerox computers i also seem to recall predating Windows. We should ask Riley about this.

Let me see if I've got this right.

Arguably the most talented QB on the team has decided to leave the program in May, 3 full months before the 1st game, because he thought he couldn't move up a depth chart made up of the SEC's 13th ranked QB in 2013, and the guy who's so good that he's the 13th ranked QB's backup?

Additionally he's only a freshman in the 1st place, with ample time to not only improve, but overtake anybody else on the roster.

So this highly touted kid is supoosedly afraid of competition from Worley and Dobbs?

Don't get me wrong, kids DO leave when they see an insurmountable stable of QB's ahead of them; an insurmountable stable of 4* and 5* QB's that are obviously more talented than them.

I haven't seen Dobbs play; but I've seen Worley play, and no offense to the young man, but I find it hard to believe any QB's are terrified at the prospect of competing against him... and if Dobbs is his backup, well, it's even harder to believe RF feared competing against him.

Surely there's more to this story that's yet to be revealed. I'd believe grades. I'd almost believe homesickness except that he's from a neighboring state. I just don't believe a QB battle has been settled 3 months from kickoff, to the extent that a guy would just throw in the towel, and either sit out a year or go play somewhere immediately that gives him virtually no chance of moving on to the next level.

Just doesn't make any sense to me.

LWS said that Fergie did not put in extra time in the film room, after practice throwing, or anything else that would help him improve. He wanted the job handed to him. Fergie had an uncle call in to a radio show last season *****ing cause Fergie wasn't getting playing time.

If you read anything about the O&W game this year, Fergie failed miserably. Especially when the coaches blitzed him. It was speculated this was done on purpose to prove to Fergie that he needed to spend more time studying so he'd know what to do when blitzed, as the other QB's were not blitzed much if at all. He failed the course. He has now chosen to take his toys and go home.

Such is life. Good luck to the young man wherever he ends up in life.

GBO!

Well, it should be since the O and W game is such a test of a QBs skills. I mean, its the premier game of any UT QBs career.

Well, it was the only game of Ferg's UT career.

That should instantly make it the most important one... especially considering he completely underwhelmed in what was a glorified scrimmage, right?

No.

These coaches don't know anything compared to the illustrious posters here on VN.

The O&W was a glorified scrimmage. It was a dog and pony show put on for the fans to lather themselves up in butter and sing rocky top to.

You're telling me the coaches actually used this as a chance to appoint a QB1 coming out of Spring and going into Fall?

That the Spring and O&W game would dictate who got the most 1st Team reps in the Fall? What do you think the coaches are doing? Taking their job and the limited practice and scrimmage time seriously?

What do you think they're trying to do? Improve the team and give the 4 QBs in the race an incentive to bust their @sses in the off-season?

Nah, dude. Check yourself. It was a scrimmage. The stats don't real, bro. I could go out there and throw 4 TDs that's how bad the competition is.

The work at Xerox PARC predates GEM by many years. Apple exchanged pre-IPO stock options in order to secure a visit to the Xerox facilities, and their early Lisa and Macintosh teams had several former PARC employees on board.

Don't think Dobbs was even going against the ones as Ferguson and Worley were from what I read. Wasn't able to make this one.

These are the drives, showing which offense they used and against which D they played:

Worley (5 drives)
Offense - 4 of 5 with 1st team offense
Defense – 4 of 5 vs. 1st team defense
2 TDs & 1 FG

Peterman (4 drives)
Offense: 2 with each 1st & 2nd team
Defense: 2 each vs. 1st & 2nd team
2 TDs

Ferguson (6 drives)
Offense: 3 with each 1st & 2nd team
Defense: 2 vs. 1st team & 4 vs. 2nd team
1 TD, 1 INT & 1 fumble

Dobbs (5 drives)
Offense: 3 with 1s & 2 with 2nd team
Defense: All 5 vs. 2nd team
4 TDs

Take away from it what you will. There is more info here:

Sad perspective there, Billy. So you'd rather spend your time doing golly wally over rumors, as opposed to dealing with facts? It's OK. If VN goes away, you can always look forward to your soap opry's.:cray::cray::cray:

Well, that's just your opinion. :the_finger:

This meltdown is pretty tame compared to the epicness that ensued following BJ Coleman's departure.

Woah. My sarcasm meter batteries needed changing. My bad...lol

Well, to be fair, that's probably because most of us thought that another QB by the name of CJ Boleman was leaving the team at the same time, so we were out of back up quarterbacks to declare the starter.
