Gun control debate (merged)

About 3 hours. I need to go see him. He did me a favor and I need to square up with him. I've just been so damned busy.

So I can call off the boys scoping out your place now?

It's only a leg. They heal after some time.

Hell yeah.

I look to hang out with him at the sooners game as well. My understanding is there will be quite a few of us at that game. Not sure which game(s) I'm going to at Knoxville. Depending on work I was wanting to catch one while TRUT was there.

I might be missing any pregame activities for the Sooner game, but for a good reason.

I happen to know the person who works for CSC and decides who and where the security folks work during the games. So not only can I go to the game, I get paid to do it.

If you catch my drift...

I gotcha.

If the NRA would ever not fight to the death on even the most imperceptible restrictions you'd have a point. But fact is, the NRA leadership make a fortune for themselves convincing their membership to oppose everything, regardless of how much sense it makes, based on a specious slippery slope theory.

Ever heard of "give an inch take a mile"? Why should the masses suffer because of the actions of a few? You libs are a huge part of the problem. How many catastrophes could have been prevented if not for the mindset that nut jobs & such deserve to be treated totally equal? I guess hard working, law abiding, good people have to suffer in every way to make you libs happy. Take our money, rights, & everything else to pander to a few & to the worthless.

Has the media/left figured out how to make this killer Lib a pot-bellied, middle-aged white man, radical right wing Tea Party activist yet?

That's exactly what the anti-gun tactic is. They know it's not a battle they'll win over night but one day you'll wake up and the legal ownership of firearms by the general public will be in the rear view mirror. They realize they can't eat the whale in one bite so they nibble a little every day until the freedom is gone.

Or it could just be, you know, that everyone is sick and tired of people spraying sororities, army bases, malls, movie theaters, delis, and elementary schools with gunfire.

And whenever someone says, hey, we need to do something to curb access to easy lethality, they are castigated as unAmerican.

I'm hoping that you are defining yourself as "everyone."

Did you ever find out if the pistols he used were purchased legally or not? Or would you just rather continue being outraged without a clue as to the facts?

Your sarcasm aside, I said I hope we can trace them and how he got them so we can choke off those supply points and investigate if any laws were broken, or whether civil liability should be explored, or whether some future limitations can be imposed to hinder others from obtaining them.

Kind of like mental health screening?

You still miss the most obvious point that you need to STOP BLAMING THE SWORD FOR THE HAND THAT WIELDS IT!

Why do you persist in blaming the firearms when THE POLICE KNEW IN ADVANCE THIS PERSON WASN'T RIGHT?

Is this the guns fault? Or was it a complete and utter break down in the system that should have identified. No strike that, THEY DID IDENTIFY HIM IN ADVANCE, and nothing was done. Yet you persist in your moronic argument that without guns none of this would have happened. He stabbed three people to death! STABBED them. And ran over others with his vehicle. Yet you persist in focusing on one part of this entire thing.

Give it a rest, you've lost this argument and your bias is getting boring.

That is a brilliant strategy. If he got them legally, then legal gun ownership is to blame. If he got them illegally, then legal gun ownership is to blame.

Forget the idea of placing blame on the criminal.

He would prefer that they be illegal. Per his line of reasoning, the legal owner could also be named in the wrongful death suit. Once you realize that LG's motivation in this is purely financial you begin to see the failed logic in his posts.

Oh, I might be able to understand that, but his line of thinking is not any different than much of the other moon bats out there that believe the world will be filled with unicorns and rainbows if guns were made illegal.

It's kind of sad really.

Actually, if you have followed his posts on this, he is not advocating making them illegal. He is advocating requiring gun owners to have liability policies that kick in no matter what the issue. Liability = $$$$$$$$$ for hack lawyers.
