Kind of like mental health screening?
You still miss the most obvious point that you need to STOP BLAMING THE SWORD FOR THE HAND THAT WIELDS IT!
Why do you persist in blaming the firearms when THE POLICE KNEW IN ADVANCE THIS PERSON WASN'T RIGHT?
Is this the guns fault? Or was it a complete and utter break down in the system that should have identified. No strike that, THEY DID IDENTIFY HIM IN ADVANCE, and nothing was done. Yet you persist in your moronic argument that without guns none of this would have happened. He stabbed three people to death! STABBED them. And ran over others with his vehicle. Yet you persist in focusing on one part of this entire thing.
Give it a rest, you've lost this argument and your bias is getting boring.
The police can't just lock up someone based on a request for a wellness check. If a report someone is concerned is enough, you better a) build 10,000 more hospitals and b) get ready for all the calls that can either get someone locked up or retaliate and c) you'll just make truly concerned people that much more reluctant to express a worry.
And even if by some string of thousands of miracles you could prevent a fair number of these, you wouldn't dent criminal acts, accidents, and arguments that get out of hand.
My bias is well known. Too many people have too many guns. It's out of control.
