Coaches know how to talk, at least most of them, you can talk up Chiles and a Mostella and make them sound like Rajon Rondo and Tony Parker, but when the lights come on and Kentucky comes into TBA, what happens?

Like I said yesterday, sit back and relax. Observe, evaluate, converse, decide and conclude. Not much you or I or anybody else can do about it at this point....CDT seems to have better success at doing it at two lower levels of play. That combined with the fact that he is the coach for the next 3 years seems to make any analysis of wins and losses a moot point at the moment... Cutting his legs out from under him or comparing him to other coaches or projecting the number of wins/loses for the season has no meaning and is meaningless since we have at least 3 seasons to do it...kind of like pissing into the wind.

They are only issues because you choose to make them issues at this time....right now we don't know if they are issues or not until a game is played. Just because you think it is doesn't mean it will be.

Did I read or hear that Punter was going to be one of the PG and that Baulkman was also.

Here's what he actually said on two occasions. At the Tri-Cities caravan, he said, "Reporter question - If you had to play to play an inter squad game tonight, who would the point guards be for each side? “Well, it would, if Darius Thompson comes back, which I’m hoping to know this week, he would be one along with Ian Chiles. If he decides not to come back then we well go with Ian Chiles, you know, maybe our walk-on, BRANDON, and if not, I think Kevin Punter or Devon Baulkman could slide over and play some point guard as well.” That was on Tuesday before he received the word that DT was not returning. In the Basilio interview yesterday, he seemed to lean toward Punter and Baulkman saying the added length would make the defense better. Both Chiles and Lopez are 6'1". They are the more natural point guards. I don't think we will know the answer until they hit the floor after 30 practices.

Count the scholarships, Kentucky has an open spot, oh wait maybe they're saving it for Lopez?

Nope, don't know more than everyone, just SD. Quite clear as well judging by this conversation alone, simply count UKs scholarship, it's basic math. :thumbsup:

I"m telling you what Tyndall said in the interview. No more no less. Maybe you should listen to it. I tend to trust what he says more than what you say, if you catch my drift!

So Tyndall's words were that Kentucky wanted Mostella but that they didn't have an open scholarship for him?

It really doesn't matter who said it, it's not even debatable, Kentucky has an open scholarship according to verbal commits, you get 13 and they only have 12 accounted for...

Not debatable? Hmmm! Direct quote, Coach T, "The 2nd guy was Detrick Mostella. He was committed to Pitt. The coach who recruited him left and went to Kentucky, and then we all felt like he was gonna go to Kentucky and they were full with scholarships. A couple of guys (Harrison twins) they thought were going to leave early decided to stay and they did not have a scholarship for him, and so he kind of fell in our laps."

Like I said, it's not debatable, maybe CDT is mistaken, or maybe you're misremembering as you provided no link to this quote.

the link I provided clearly shows Kentucky has 12 scholarship players, and it's fairly well known that the number allowed is 13.

I just listened to the Tony Basilio interview and wrote it down word for word. You are afraid to listen because you can't stand being proven wrong. The big one has not hit yet.

To be fair CDT saying he felt Mostella would end up at UK and saying that UK wanted him but had no schollies are two different things. Doesn't matter either way. Glad we ended up with him.

I regrettably tried to actually have an educational discussion with you, hoping you could stick to facts, should've known better.

I'm not sure how clear I can make this, you're allowed 13 scholarship players, if Kentucky is full how many scholarship players does that mean that have? You got it, 13. Care to list them, because there's only 12 scholarship players currently listed on their roster.

Regarding point guards, here's what Coach T actually said on two occasions this week. Who has Tyndall signed that's a 4 star in his class? No offense but all we've seen to this point are guys who were either looking for the best offer because they didn't have one yet, or this 'grad transfer' thing. I define that as a Sr who's graduated and is being pushed out by a better Fr or So, so he goes elsewhere.

Then keep quiet because the only amazing thing is how quickly guys were brought in. I've never raved about the quality or potential quality, just the effort. The quality remains to be seen. To say one class 'kills' the other is laughable. CM's class weren't guy's still waiting around in April. Oh, and they weren't guy's he recruited to Tennessee either. I'll give Cuonzo this even if you and other's wont. He's an honorable man.
