So how many games will Coach Tyndall's first team win?

There are clear deficiencies right now but we wont be wondering how in the world we are going to manage to score 60 a night like we were going to have to.

need to see who is on the team in the fall but definitely could be a 20+ win team. CDT's teams wear other teams down. A loss to a 7 scholarship team with inferior talent shouldn't happen with his system. A not very deep opponent will be mentally and physically shot the last 5-6 minutes of the game against us.

I'm ready to see if we can surprise anyone in this Old Spice tourney (I know they are calling it something else now) but wouldn't it be cool to see us knock off. Michigan State...I think 18-20 wins isn't too much to ask for. Richardson and Hubbs should be out lead scorers and if Mostella gets cleared I think .500 in the league is manageable.

For this first year, I'm more interested in seeing energy and hustle and playing hard than some magic win figure. Something different than the last few years, at any rate.

After the first year, once CDT has had a chance to do real recruiting, I'll start brooding more about W/L.

18 Wins.... will get much better by end of season....will be difficult for other teams to adjust to Tyndall's pressing defense and super fast pace...

I would have traded one of the SGs for some experience at the 4. Going to be interesting to see what Tyndall does with Armani.
Is his plan More Moore at the 4?

18 wins

We still have no idea how efficient rebounding and paint presence will be. I'm also wondering who will be the leading scorer for this team, i can see 3-4 guys averaging 10-13pts per game.

We will beat someone we shouldn't and lose to someone we shouldn't.

As is always the case every year for the wide majority of programs. What sets a good team apart is minimizing those loses. Great teams don't have the norms of those head scratching loses.

Elaborate, because that will make the difference.

I've seen people say we won't have bad losses under Tyndall. I've seen people say we will surprise people this year. I expect a little of both. To think bad losses suddenly disappear is foolish. Teams lose games they shouldn't every single year. That's just the way basketball works.

Almost every team has bad losses. It's how you lose. Were you off and the opponent was on, foul trouble, etc? Or did the opponent take it to you as you are passive and not coaching or playing the way you should in regards to effort and intensity. The latter isn't expected with CDT.

I know all that and agree. People are talking like bad losses are never going to happen. I was just pointing out that they will still happen once, maybe twice a season.

I just want people to temper their expectations for the season a bit. 80% roster turnover and a brand new coach. If people go in expecting NCAA tournament with as much change as we've gone through, they're setting themselves up to be angry and disappointed with Tyndall if we don't make it. I've seen people predicting 20 wins. That doesn't seem likely to me.

Seeing all the players that CDT is bringing in. I change my prediction to 17-18 wins and probably an NIT bid. I never knew that Donnie was that kind of recruiter!

Barring a major change I think the expectation should be set at 18 wins regular season, and a top 5 finish in the SEC.

Gives you a praying chance entering the SECT to win a few games and maybe sneak into the NCAAT, but likely has you headed towards hosting the NIT.
