IUPUI Transfer: Ian Chiles (UT commit 5/13/14)

@Ben_Fred: Tyndall on Chiles: “Ian brings a strong, physical and experienced lead guard to our team."

Sounds like Chiles will be the PG, hope he puts up good enough numbers in the RTL.

I pull for the Dallas Mavericks and though I'm no fan of him personally,Wade almost singlehandedly denied them that championship (with a little ref help :) )...That was Shaq's last reasonably productive year...but he had already eaten away his star status.

Wade was the best player in that series (the Mavericks didn't have anybody to guard him) but Shaq was their best player overall, IMO. Shaq was still a star. He averaged 24 and 11 per 36 minutes shooting a TS% of .586. Cousins is the only center in 2014 who comes close to approaching that. He was still a star.

Wade right now is better than Iverson ever was, IMO. Also, I would say Shaq was the best player on Wade's first title team.

I don't care who said no to Team USA, we should be able to win gold with 0 of our top 25 players. That's how much better we are than the rest of the world. It's a monumental task for guard play to drag team USA down that badly. Wade and Jefferson were no good, but everyone else who played significant minutes played well.

What?

Shaq was the best player on wades first title team? Do you watch basketball? Shaq was injured the first two rounds of the playoffs which they swept both . He then scored 12 points per game in the nba finals while wade averaged a meager 35 and won MVP. Good point though.

Yes that was the most single handed victory for an NBA finals team I've ever seen it was all wade all the time

Prepare to be per 36'd to death.

Stats and the eye test are all I need, not metrics.

What if we per 36'd everyone? That would hurt guys like Iverson, Michael, Kobe, Lebron, etc. who played every single second they could. Just not my style. Hell, if we're honest, A.I. is a single championship from being the 2nd best shooting guard of all time, he might've had the best "carry an average team to the finals" job of anyone. The only one even in the running is the cleveland Lebron's but they got swept by a team much less dominating than Shaq/Kobe's lakers were in their worst year.

I agree on all counts. Huff and I have debated many things, he's a big per 36 guy. Personally I care what you do in your actual minutes in a game.

I do wish we'd per 36 Birdman. He'd probably average 8.5 blocks a game in his worst year.

(I'm no Heat fan, but I've always loved me some Birdman)

Chiles is quickly becoming my favorite player he just followed me on instagram
