Eric McKnight has committed to Tennessee

Very good pick up at the right time. I just now started this up today i want to say i have been reading on VN for a while now and appreciate most of the opinions i see. Just wanted to say I'm happy to be on finally!! Who you think will be our starting 5?

Another Trut? This is highly doobious.

Misspelled intentionally btw.

I wonder if McKnight wanting to commit had any role in the quick change of direction for Cofer. CDT may have a big in the 2015 class that is a major target and only needed a gap filler for 2014. I didn't perceive that there was a concerted effort to get back any of the formerly committed recruits. Sometimes it would be fun to be a fly on the wall listening to the recruiting strategies. Pollard also looks like an interesting option.

I think the guy that was happy about Cofer going elsewhere was Willie Carmichael think he is the guy that took that spot.

Glad we were able to add him, at a definite position of need. Gotta say one thing about CDT, if he gets prospects on campus, he appears to know how to close the deal.

If CDT can land this type of class within a month, I can't wait to see the 2015 recruits.

I hope you are right. DDT has certainly started great but I can't help but wonder about this kid's suspensions and the kudos would previously committed to 2 other schools before committing to us. We shall see.

He sells it as the top 25 program it should and will be.

@Ben_Fred: Joe Dooley told @NDN_DCaldwell that new #Vols transfer commit Eric McKnight was kicked off team at FGCU. College basketball: Former FGCU forward Eric McKnight headed to Tennessee » Naples Daily News

Not the classiest move by their coach, almost sounds like sour grapes.

Sounds to me like CDT may be well advised to inform the kid from day 1 he is on a 1 strike and your out ordeal. CDT wants to give the kid a chance, I'm all for it. He sounds like he is coming in with a lot of baggage though. Hope CDT plays this with a no nonsense mindset.

Sounds pretty accurate. Hopefully he can stay clean for at least a few months.

Agree. He waited til the kid found a home then threw him under the bus. Definitely sounds like sour grapes.

It's pretty clear what happened, Cofer went to FSU and DT decided he had to take the risk. Hopefully he keeps his nose clean for at least 7-8 months.

Not going to rebound like Stokes or Maymon, but a big time shot blocker. Looks like he can run the floor.

How is that sour grapes? Joe was asked and stated that he wasn't allowed back on the team for a violation of team rules......those exact words have been said by many coaches and doesn't mean he was throwing him under the bus. Again, Eric is a good kid, he just thought he was above the rules here at FGCU. None of his coaches made him fail multiple drug test. Eric has been covered for for many years.

Welcome to Big Orange Country, Eric!

I'm quite impressed with the recruiting that CDT has done since he has been here. Can't wait to see what he can do in the future. :dance2:

The sour grapes part to me is the timing of his comments. Along with him deflecting the question "how do you think Eric will fare at Tennessee"? He answered it with "I don't give it much thought". Well of course you don't. The non butthurt thing to do would be answer the question. The quote I read from Eric had nothing but good things to say about FGCU.
