Martin can't recruit, he doesn't bring in any talent. All his guys are garbage or projects:

I feel like I'm connected after hearing my in-laws for the last 5 yrs and co-workers all say Martin haha. I travel west TN and SW KY often for work and I've never heard it any other way. I can always tell when someone's not from the area originally when I say I went to UT and they ask Martin or Knoxville? UT to me means Knoxville and simply Martin refers to UTM.

if our players cant handle what people say on message boards....my ten yr old daughter is more mentally tough than they are.

It's always the same ole diatribe with you, just set to a different beat. You worship CCM, many of us didn't care for him, he's gone, we're over it, now it's time for you to as well. Do you even have a connection to UT now that's he's gone or was that your only connection?

Seriously though, it looks like when the players said the petition thing made them mad, and the graduating players bashed the fan base, it might not have helped player retention.

That is the way I have always heard it and said it; especially growing up in West TN. :)

I don't think it had anything to do with message board comments. Darius just doesn't want to play for an in-your-face type coach. JMO And of the few USM games I watched last year, if you screw up get ready to be held immediately accountable. CCM would just let guys pick splinters if they screwed up. also JMO

I thought that was one of the criticism people had of Martin? Pulling guys if they screwed up, giving them no confidence?

I'm confused, he put them on the bench but didn't scream at them, so they weren't held accountable? I assume they were informed of the reason why they were on the bench.

Yes she does and is being recruited by a couple high schools.....don't think she will be a good replacement for DT though.

Could have been some folks criticism, but mine was CCM's lack of immediate accountability. As a player I used to hate getting yanked and not really knowing what the he!! I did to be picking spinters. :)

I'm saying the fact that the entire team is defecting may speak to the players feelings about last season. That doesn't seem to be that much of a stretch. Also, yes, I'm looking at a Doctor of Veterinary Science diploma from U.T. hanging on my wall right now.

Just depends on the attitude of the player. Calipari will pull a player out quickly for a mistake, yell at them, and then re-insert if they are a good player. If you are mentally tough, you understand that it is for the better. If you are not, then you can sulk and transfer.

No wonder I have to wait 45 minutes to speak to a Vet when I take my dog in for a check up. haha

Not my diploma, but I invested enough time in money in it to claim my share of it.

Also, wife is no longer a vet, got tired of dealing with owners walking in on a Friday afternoon and then being upset when they had to wait 45 minutes speak to a vet. haha

I didn't imply that anything was a stretch. I simply stated that your soapbox is always the same. The Martin bobble heads are the only ones keeping his "legacy" alive. Let it go.

Some folks on here, myself included, were in a discussion on this board just a few weeks ago about whether or not there should be a rule that current players (not recruits) should be allowed to switch schools without penalty when a new coach is hired.

I am getting concerned about these rumors for the very reason that I opposed a complete open-door policy on transfers when a new coach is hired. I think Tyndall should consider each request, but these requests are totally different than a recruit requesting a release, and should be considered by a much higher standard.

So what I'm saying makes sense, you just don't like that I'm saying it? Makes sense. Sometimes you reap what you sow, and it appears, for better or worse, U.T. is reaping the results from last season. It will be interesting to see if bottoming out helps recruiting. DT is going to have a big job on his hands, and I don't think he can do it just through JuCo at this level. I guess we will have to sit back on find out.

@Ben_Fred: #Vols guard Robert Hubbs says he has not requested a release as some have reported. Says he is still weighing his options as of right now.



Can likely thank shoulder surgery if he is back
