TOS posters saying defection rumors legit

I saw a post on the VQ where Rob Lewis said that he was not aware of any rumblings about players transferring. It doesn't mean they won't but he posted that about 10:20 PM last nite.

If a player does leave, it is important that we all post about how they weren't that good anyway. It's tradition.

Maybe it has something to do with feeling wanted. I have no opinion on DT but he certainly seems to be apathetic to keeping any of our current player's or recruits.I am content to let him make his bed.

Or what? You'd pull back your million dollar donation?

Basilio is saying he thinks Thompson and AJ Davis may leave.
You know how I've been saying on the air that Donnie Tyndall is going to recruit virtually an entire new team for the past week. That's because I've expected some defections from the current team. Not a shock here that both AJ Davis and Darius Thompson could be gone by the end of the week. BTW, I think AJ Davis was going to leave whether Cuonzo stayed or went. I'm not sure how good of a fit either player would be with Tyndall. Donnie is really demanding. That said the guys who stick and play for him will get a chance to flourish in his system. Especially somebody like Armani Moore is going to love playing for this guy. Where Thompson fits in, I'm not so sure. So, if you're asking me whether or not these potential defections concern me? The answer is not really. If they stay, that would be fine and if they go it's going to be all the same. Obviously year one is a lot smoother if they stay.

In terms of having depth, it will hurt. Talent wise, they won't be missed. If you don't want to work hard to improve, then go find another lazy coach.

Supposedly if 1 goes all 3 go, not sure how true that is, but it's what I was told.

I don't buy that for a second. Not saying it couldn't happen, but the only one of those guys that should have an impact on the others is Hubbs. Why would Robert Hubbs, a 5* player who could go anywhere in the country to play, care where AJ Davis plays his ball? Also, why would Hubbs base his decision on where a 3* point guard who wasn't even on UT's radar when Hubbs signed wants to play?

You won't see all 3 of these guys bolt and Hubbs is the least likely to transfer IMO.

JMO.

I'm sharing what I was told, and you of all people know that my info is coming from solid places.

It's not that 1 cares where the other goes, it's that all 3 are really close, and not near as close with the 4 other members of the team. Therefore if 1 leaves the other 2 are gonna leave as well and find a place they are more comfortable with the other players.

Now will it play out that way? Probably not, parents will likely get involved and 1 may stay, but that's the deal between those 3 players.

I hope the guys stay. I just can't make myself put any stock into a Vandy board. Hopefully this is all just rumors and they bleed orange. But if not.....Tyndall is getting some needed help in his first two signees.....and I like what he is doing. Hopefull the present players see what he is trying to build in the short time he has.

According to NCAA rules, none of them go anywhere if UT does not release them. The NCAA's opinion is that the player signs with the school not the coach, different from Coach T. I really don't think he well scrap his team because a few players don't appreciate "conditioning" to run a new system if you catch my drift!

You can still transfer if the school won't release you. You just can't be on scholarship during your first year (in which you must sit out), amd pay your own way.

Um, yeah they can. They can quit and sit out a year. The same way everyone else does it.

I'm not saying you don't have solid info. I'm saying when I hear stuff like that it sounds like it's kids talking. "If you leave, I'm leaving." Stuff like that. It's lip service. When the rubber meets the road, it's not an easy decision to make and I don't think all 3 will transfer.

Here's my guess. Just my guess. AJ Davis wants to transfer out (which Basilio is saying he's heard was happening regardless of who our coach is next season) and that's where this talk about the others is stemming from.

And like I said, Hubbs is least likely to transfer. Why would he go sit out a year when he's probably thinking he's possibly just a year or two away from the NBA? Transferring isn't going to do anything to make that happen quicker.

Does it sound like Cuonzo was alittle soft on practices....conditioning? Just wondering if some of the players don't like being pushed, etc.
