Bama fans tweeting him come to Bama so funny. Those people are all over the place never seen a fan base so hard to avoid.

Visit went good, liked Coach T, but is gonna remain open for a little bit. Will decide before too long, but is gonna listen to a few other schools/coaches before making a decision.

This leaves the door open for a couple of things. Obviously, it could lead to a recommit, but it also gives time for someone like Owens to swoop in for a commitment as well and leave Cofer out to dry. If Phil is going to listen to other programs, then CDT is going to be open to a commitment from others.

:hi:

Would have liked to hear him say he would re-sign, but at least he didn't spit on CDT as he left. That we know of, anyway.

Talked to Phil. A few things and will have a story later.

First off, he had a lot of positive things to say about coach Tyndall, really liked his personality, liked the fact that the whole staff came and generally just said that after the home visit Tennessee is definitely still in the picture for him.

Now the bad news. He's taking official visits to Florida State and Virginia Tech over the next couple of weeks. FSU up first this weekend.

On the bright side, he never used his official visit to Tennessee, just coming up unofficially in the fall. He indicated that as of now he and his family plan to use that trip to come up and spend more time with the staff and get a better feel for things. That could happen mid-week next week though it's not been set in stone.

My gut says that Tennessee is very much an option for him after the visit tonight, but I think they are also very much in a dog-fight here.

It sounded like Tyndall and the staff did a great job not just with Phil, but with the family as well, and have at least given themselves a chance.

Cofer mentioned that he already new asst. coach Al Pinkins from when he tried to recruit him to Ole Miss, a familiar face that he remembered fondly.

:lolabove:Bottom line for Cofer. He is either a VFL or NOT!! Going to Florida or Vagina )' for a visit won't change that.

Briarcrest. We played against Melrose in the state champ game @ '84. We had Wilfong. They had Bailey and Bedford. I was a freshman on the bench. Had to end up going against orien Watson and Ronnie schmidtz on the same nasty ridgeway team, Elliot Perry, roland Ware, Ronald Davis(pg st Bartlett), among others soph-Sr. Probably a big reason I can't walk now in my mid 40's.

Cool, I attended SouthSide during the mid 70's. Smoke Hollimon who later played at Memphis State was one of key players from our school. Had some other great guys that played also, but back then Melrose had James Bradley a 6'8" power forward that was built like Lebron but loved to shoot the long jumper. Hamilton which was near by had a cat named Teddy Johnson. Dude was maybe 6'3" and he could get up the floor. That Hamilton team could flat out play. We were fortunate to beat them homecoming by 20 pts.

Never played Southside. Did play Hamilton and Melrose would bring @ 25 players in the summer to play against us, walk out of the gym after @ 20 dunks and leave us puking from trying to keep up. I was actually zoned to Melrose and my parents didn't have $ but Briarcrest had some program where basically my dad helped work concessions at events and we didn't have to pay tuition.

Look forward to chatting with you and getting your insight on the new regime on the Hill.

Like I've mentioned before, I can sum it up from my view as follows:
Instead of making a 3 and allowing the offense to walk it up and regroup as we call a timeout and our crowd sits down, we will now jump into a press and not give the opponent time to regroup and think or even look at their coach for instructions.

And that'll give us so many win's I'll tingle all over. By the 3rd year we might have 15 wins instead of a S16. Get used to the NIT gents. The same thing you knocked the last guy for. We'll be living in it.
