That's what makes this so frustrating as a Pacers fan. They actually pretty decent tonight, except for the quarter and a half they flat out quit playing defense. They can't allow a guy with a hot hand hitting a few threes to cause them to shut off on the defensive end altogether for extended periods of time. I'm still hoping they can build off this 4th quarter and come out ready to go on Thursday night.
You think they will let Lance go? Hill is a good 6th man combo guard, but i wouldn't want him starting at PG. I do think you all will fall behind Washington and Toronto, maybe Chicago (depending on Roses health) unless a couple big changes are made. Sucks cause i like the Pacers, their fall has been crazy.
They've been adamant that they either can't or won't pay the luxury tax. I'm not sure they can afford to pay George, West, Hibbert AND Stephenson and still put a decent supporting cast on the floor. There's a chance it might be possible now that Granger is off the books.
On the bright side, unlike 10 years ago, at least this time they haven't blown their championship window by getting into a franchise-destroying brawl with an entire arena on national TV. This time it was just a good, old fashioned team chemistry implosion.
Congrats again to the Hawks and their fans. If some team has to dish out this humiliating loss to Indy, there's probably not a team I'd rather it come from than the Hawks. This team has been mired in mediocrity for what seems like forever, so seeing something good happen to them makes this at least a little better.
