If White is confident in his abilities the buyout shouldn't be an issue, obviously he doesn't feel he can get it done here.
Like I've said, trending that way, not it was definitely a dead deal. VQ had 2-3 updates today saying buyouts were an issue and had been since yesterday. The guy on here who had the info first yesterday said it wasn't looking likely earlier today.
i mean who was saying it
I can't say for sure that White has completely slammed the door. As of noon today, it apparently was looking doubtful, but I don't think Hart has given up throughout the afternoon/evening.
But I haven't felt all day at any point that it was a done deal or close to being a done deal for White to be at Tennessee.
But again, I can't say for sure that talks have ended.
Sp from what you know about this guy....you think it definatley think its over? Is anyone else reporting it? I hate that I get so invested in this. As Vols fans we all do....but this is a bummer if true.
I hope he's wrong as I really want White to get the job, just sharing the info.
And as I've mentioned, from reading in between the lines it appeared to be heading this way.
Now maybe Hart sleeps on it and decides to go with what White is asking, who knows.
I think you are on the right track. He knows how the system works.
The more successful you are the better the deal is ALWAYS.
But the more success you have, the other party (TN) will have a larger buy-out every time there is an extension.
Hart and TN probably have a "solid knowing" that he would bolt within 2 years if he became very successful. Because if they didn't, the buy-out for him leaving within 2 years would be a smaller amount.
Right now, White still has credibility to his name. If he goes to TN and flops, that credibility goes down hill.
I compare this to when Auburn hired Tony Barbee from UTEP. I think he jumped way too soon. They were about the same age too.

Information on his contract
Auburn coach Tony Barbee formally signs contract thru 2017 | AL.com
Barbee coached Auburn for four seasons, leading the Tigers to a 49-75 record and 18-50 mark in SEC play -- a .265 winning percentage that is the second-worst four-year period in Auburn's history.
Auburn owes Barbee a $2.4375 million buyout to be paid in monthly installments through 2017.
Like I said...
That might e the stupidest most non informative pos posting I've ever read. LWS apparently is like the rest of us and don't know crap. All that guy said is that talks have slowed but they might not be over yet and u, BTO gonna say it looks like it's over. Unreal. Now I know why so many ppl rip on u on a daily basis. Smh
