I hope you guys are supporting Brent with your own $$ and not relying on posters stealing his information and posting on other boards.

Ha, I did just that and soon discovered the information from Hubbs posted on the other board was altered just a tad. Lesson learned. :)

This might account for part of the answer.

In 2013:
The number of millionaires in Florida - 348,623
Number of millionaires in Tennessee - 101,465

BruisedOrange - :twocents:
Seems like a low # for Florida considering the population size. I guess they don't count snowbirds.

Donovan was a rising star coaching at Marshall when FL hired in in 1996. He is what all AD's dream of hiring. Giving a rising star a chance at a major university by hiring cheap and it end up being a homerun hire.

I like Michael White think he is an up and coming coach. He knows the south really well think he could recruit better than Mack and Cronin. Tyndall is my fourth choice. Right now if i could name the coach. 1-White 2-Cronin 3-Mack 4-Tyndall.

I know this is the basketball forum so there's a more informed base of regular posters in here and you probably have a very good grasp of all of their potential. Speaking for the uninformed mass who only care about basketball if it's really good or really bad, I can tell you that none of those guys will win the press conference and Hart desperately needs to win this one if you don't want to see the return of the black curtains. Cronin might come close if only because we could claim taking away another major university's coach but none of the four are needle movers. He needs Marshall or Smart.

I think White is high energy and could very well win the press conference. He's a vocal guy and does well in the spotlight. Winning the presser does not equate to we got the guy with the highest price tag.

Sometimes you have to win it. Right now they have
three options for the branding of the program. Are we gonna have a slow rebuild, try to recapture the BP era or get someone with enough gravitas that the pedestrian fan will accept his vision? The third way would be best if Hart can pull it off. Just hire someone impressive enough that nobody can complain.

So you dont think a young coach could come in and win here next year? Just curious.

There will be a firestorm of criticism on Hart of that is what he does.

Our fan base will just accept that Hart checked with other top coaches and none were interested which is complete bulls*t! I know for a fact one highly regarded coach is interested. If our fan base allows these crap hires to continue then we have no one to blame but ourselves. Hart needs to quit trying to act like he knows it all and pick a proven coach.

I think a young coach could but i am tired of "coulds", for once id like to see a "most likely will, high chance he will, or a has before" type guy.

We pushed out a coach who showed that he could get out team into the Tourney. To bring in an unproven young kid or longtime mid-major coach masks no sense whatsoever.

You go balls out to get a top name coach and bring the checkbook with you.

Smart isn't leaving VCU for now.

So the options are pretty much pay Marshall money that NCAA title winners get.

Hire Howland and hope the troubles from UCLA weren't really that bad and that the NCAA isn't waiting to pounce.

Take the best guy you can get, who can win games and assume the fans, if they leave, will come back for him.

The next year, or maybe even two might be pretty rough. But they were going to be rough whether or not Zo screamed out of here.

I don't care about "winning the press conference" or any of that tired B.S. Win where it counts, the recruiting trail and on the floor and you'll be fine here.

No michael white, interesting.

I don't understand why anyone would be surprised. The guys dad is the AD at Duke and to think the son wouldn't seek dad's advice, and Coach K's is silly. So then it's, what do you think they think of UT as a career move.

Same with Pitino Jr.

I just don't believe either of the guys will be the next coach.
