He turned down UCLA and NC State, both schools with a better pedigree than us. Not sure but I think he turned down Arkansas as well at some point that would be comparable to us. Not a chance wouldn't even make him say no that would only add to his stock. He is pretty much taking Butler's coaches route.

Even tho' I don't think there's any real chance, I agree wholeheartedly and would go so far as to say that our AD would be negligent if they didn't at least try or send feelers out to every big name successful coach on the radar. The worst they can say is 'no.'

Shaka isn't coming to UT. UT would never pay him 2.5-3.0 million which would be what it probably would take. I don't think he is worth that kind of bread.

He's this generation's Mark Few. He has already built his strong program and maintains universal respect. The prestige that he's put into VCU, and the comparable lack of it throughout the rest of the conference, means that he has got a consistent tournament team on his hands.

No way he risks losing that acclaim, now. He's going to be at VCU until either the NBA or a giant comes calling that's not in need of rebuilding (e.g. Duke, UNC, Kentucky).
