Unofficial Coaching Search Thread

I honestly think Howland would be the best fit for TN regarding the pressure of the fan base.

Every UCLA coach is always compared to Wooden. Cuonzo was compared to Pearl and our next coach will be as well. Some coaches won't be able to handle it.

You know, I might get skewered for this, but there is a guy sitting on the bench in Murfreesboro that has a world of experience, a high basketball IQ, and would probably fit what Hart wants to pay. Monte Towe. He has put a lot of guys in the NBA. Don't know if he wants to be a HC again after his experience at UNO, but he is a player development wiz. Might be worth a look.

I just remember the first year with Pearl. We ran a crazy press D against everyone and surprised a lot of teams that had more talent than us. That fire is what the fans want to see in a program. Not a guy who will stumble into the tourney once every 3 years.

And I have 0% confidence in VN not to run off whoever we get based on completely unrealistic expectations, regardless of how good they are. Prep for mediocrity boys, you helped create it.:clapping:

Anyone who thinks Martin left because of the fans and not because he knew he had hit his ceiling here (losing his big 3) and it would be downhill from here on out, is just being foolish.

Donnie Tyndall saying no for now makes sense. He's two more good seasons away from a really good job, although losing four senior starters would be a nice opportunity for him to jump ship

Can he recruit in the same league as the the top 3-4 in the SEC? I am not sure he can/will. He is a great x/o coach but we will need talent to come anywhere near what CCM got out of his players.

Lol, we just lost 4 startes as well. Not sure the ship he would be jumping to would be much better.

This too. I don't get why fans are acting as if Tennessee's in a position to rule the SEC right now.

Also, Hart isn't the dysfunctional one, Cheek/Martin/etc. are.
