You can't seriously want this guy or think he is better. Less tourney wins in more years than Zo. Teams score less points. Not a young coach. Won't be able to recruit here. No thanks.

He has less wins than Cuonzo because he was taking grossly overmatched teams into the tournament not a team with top 25 talent from a power conference.

Cuonzo tore it up in recruiting! I can't believe how stacked our returning roster is going to be next year. Why would Cuonzo want to leave this loaded roster he assembled?

I don't understand the lack of faith in Hart....he's hired Butch, he hired Holly, and he's hired Serrano. I have no complaints about any of them. I don't keep up with baseball, but I know we started off hot, and I know we just signed a Top 5 recruiting class in football, and Holly led us deep in the tourney as a #1 seed....not sure why the hate on Hart.

The man is a darn sure upgrade from Hammy.

Well, as Meatloaf said---'2 outta 3 ain't bad'...
Holly, not so happy about her---and a Sweet 16 is not a 'deep tourney run' for TN Lady Vol bball... Just sayin'

I think I am on board with Hart making the call to Michael White of LaTech and offering him the job. 71% winning % is pretty strong(74-31). His LaTech team ended up tied for 1st the last 2 years in their conference. He has 7 years in the SEC as an assistant where he was considered a VERY good recruiter in the south east. He currently makes around 500,000.00 a year and his buyout is 400,000.00.

If Hart is looking for a bargain, IMO this would be a very good looking candidate.

He fits exactly what Hart is looking for and the price range that was said by LWS and posted by BTO...He would do well here but how long would he stay is the question

Tenn is a third tier job and probably always will be IMO.

Tier 1 - NBA
Tier 2 - kentucky, kansas, unc, etc
Tier 3 - marquette, tenn, vt, etc
Tier 4 - uga, auburn, cal, etc
Tier 5 - la tech, ga state, etc

He would be solid choice. The hardcore fans would be there but I think based on the fact that attendance is already declining each season, hiring a little known guy with a gloomy forecast for the season, they wouldnt be beating the door down at TBA. JMO

He would be a solid choice but I agree a couple things would need to happen for him to get support. He needs to be a good marketing coach or he would receive support after he wins which will probably not happen next year.

Marshall could be considered a rising star. He's been coaching for 20 yrs and it took him 15 or so to get out of the Big South conference.

Yeah, thanks to the two previous idiot AD's at UT who interviewed him for the job four years apart, and then decided that Michael Jordan's college roommate and a cheater were better choices.

If I were Marshall, I'd tell Tennessee to go to hell. But I hope he's more forgiving than I would be, especially for the right amount of money.

Holly Warlick wasn't exactly a tough hire to make, and she came with one heck of a recommendation. Seriously, if Pat Summitt thinks you can do the job, I can't imagine Dave Hart arguing with her.

As for Butch and Serrano, he did a good job of finding the right guy. All the credit in the world for those two.

Based on that, I trust that he'll find us a good men's basketball coach. Probably a better coach than Martin was.
