Byrd from Belmont isn't likely to happen. He's been there forever and is probably close to retirement.

Cronin isn't likely to happen as Cincy is and has been home for him.

Realistic options are Tyndall from Southern Miss (previously Morehead State), Prohm from Murray State, Archie Miller from Dayton, and Ben Howland from unemployment.

Unlikely homerun hires would be Shaka Smart or Gregg Marshall.

Whatever...Counzo underachieved for 3 years with some of the best talent weve had at UT in a long time...the same ESPN that publishes "Vols Fans get what they deserved" also published just a few short months ago that UT was the most disappointing team in the NCAA at halfway through the season....and suddenly its the fans that are the bad guys, the fans ran him off, the fans have unreasonable expectations.....BS. A majority of us didn't sign the stupid petition, supported this team with the idea of wait until the season is over, didn't want BP back, and ate plenty of crow on others behalf when the team started winning games...

So what's the over/under on how long this drags out? Number of coaches that say "I have no interest in the UT opening"? Somebody lay out some numbers so we can start placing bets.

2-3 rejections before UT goes to the B list.

Every other coaching search I've started out supportive of the hire. Maybe this time I'll shake things up and just hate it from the beginning.

Absolutely....to blame this on the fanbase is asinine.

The names being thrown around make me think either a)some people are incredibly insane, or b)some of you are bogartin' the good stuff and you need to start sharing.

1. Lawrence Frank
2. Archie Miller
3. Ben Howland
4. Mark Few(i believe he has hit a plateau at GONZ)

long shots but good coaches
5. Fred Howberg
6. Mike D'antoni (is gone in LA and wont get another NBA job, his style would be great in college and would get recruits IMO)

7. if none of these guys say yes i would finaly call Pitino jr.

i really don't believe in Marshall(i think its his personalty i just dont like. reminds me too much of Tom Creen ) at UT and wouldn't want him

Lawrence Frank is certainly disgruntled in Brooklyn. Not sure what to think about him as a college HC
