Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Just now getting time to talk about the game. I thought Hurd looked real good, Worley did a little better that I thought he would, Dobbs also looked fairly good today. Pearson did good but he missed on at least one I thought he should have got. Malone was incredible for a soon to be freshman class player, had better speed than I figured. I took my two grandsons and the oldest (16 years) thought the halftime "show" with all the old-timers was very special. I thought Dewey Warren has lost a lot on his throwing arm in only 49 years but Tony Robinson didn't look too bad. Overall, with a lot of summertime work and the new guys coming in we may be a little better than some expect. If a couple of the teams that we're "expected" to lose to don't turn out to be as good then I can see us getting 7, and with some luck, 8 wins. It's about time we started getting some of the good luck that the other teams have been getting. JMO

UF looked BAD in their spring game today

19 for 31...spread option just need him to make correct read and convert 3 downs. Running game is going to be beastly.

What did the other guys throw? Maybe I combined all the bad throws between them. I remember Grier making some decent throws that hit receivers in the hands and they dropped them

Yeah Grier got stuck with 3rd team guys until last 2 series and ran with 2's.

I do remember a few really bad passes that Driskel made too. I remember at least 2 slants that hit the dirt (1 was almost caught). And he threw a screen to the left and it was like 3 yards off target.

Check out this badass at the UGA game today...

Worley is the kind of QB that can go 34-37 110 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT.

He can be efficient, but sometimes, you need chunks of yards to get the defense off of your running game

Driskel is never going to beat you with his arm but in this system he'll be s threat for 30+ yard gain every read. He'll have 800-1000 on the ground this season.

Fulwood and Robinson are big targets which Driskel needs BC his accuracy is like a Uzi(just shoot until you hit something) so if he gets it close they'll go get it.

1. Is it just the video, or were the orange pants and jerseys looking more like 80's era, TN orange?

2. Tackling was atrocious.

3. Dobbs was looking sharp. His last TD to Malone had beautiful arc and dropped right down into his mitts

4. Defensive backs need a lot of help. Coverage and tackling... :eek:hmy:

If he has the potential to rush for that much, that's a lot of carries, meaning he has the potential to get broken again. That would not end well for the Champ

Worley looked good.

Hurd and Malone looked good.

Defensive backs were horrible.

Defensively as a whole we just weren't that good.

he rushed for over 800 his soph year. Every injury has come in the pocket: high ankle sprain, sprained mcl and broken leg.
