Not to purposefully fuel the ongoing LV numbers debate, but... I think Butch's comments from yesterday about not believing in depth charts, that no one is guaranteed a roster spot is very relevant to the numbers conversation (obsession). He wants players with vereenish drive and work ethic, and I'd be surprised if we don't see more turnover this summer than expected.

Some of us expected it all along. It's called roster shaping. People can gnash teeth or fret for the players or whatever. Like it or not, it's going to happen.

Fellas, packing up for this weekend. Got my smokey grey jersey, Tennessee Vols bow tie for going out Saturday night, and an anticipation to watch the future of YOUR TENNESSEE VOLS on offense. Cooler is loaded up with brews, Bulleit Bourbon, and sun drop (mix sun drop woth bourbon and it's incredible if you didn't know). Got a crew of 16 with me and we're ready to tear the strip up and get loud in Neyland. If you see a Marquez North smokey grey jersey at the spring game, give me a Go Vols! Everyone have safe travels. See you there.

My friend was at practice yesterday

few observations he shared:

1.) Coaches love Hurd. Can not arm tackle him. He is the RB that we have needed for sometime. He will get you 2 to 3 tuff yards when we need it. No more when it's 3rd and 1 and not getting a first down. He said he looks like a LB out there but when you hand him the ball he is definately a RB.

2.) Von Pearson: no one on the team can guard him. Joe Harrington showed some film of Von and no one can guard him. They hold him and he still makes catches. He is dynamic. clone of Corderelle but more polished at the receiver position.

3.) Malone- coaches love him. Joe showed some more film of him and they are raving on his work ethic and maturity. He will be special

4.) WR as a whole are a special unit that will be the strength of the team if we can get them the ball

5.) OL- concerning. They have to grow up quick but have potential

6.) Hart is expecting 80,000 fans tomorrow

7.) Joe Harrigton is the best in the business. other programs and NFL teams keep coming after him and he keeps turning them down. We are lucky to have Joe.

8.) Butch running a practice is a site to see. Music blaring and Butch constently yelling in the mic. he says the players feed off of it. You can see the energy.

9.) Coach Thig will be in Mid TN early next week and then the Carolinas

Just thought I would share what my friend experienced yesterday. Nothing we already didn't know but wanted to share. Go Vols!

Man, I'm starting to get giddy thinking about how many recruits are legitimately interested in the Vols this year. I really do think Butch is setting us up for some huge wins and seasons, maybe even starting this year. Calm down, calm down. Don't think too far ahead, just enjoy today.

Man I wish I could go to the O&W game.

I really wish i was heading up to Knoxville today, but some things aren't meant to be. I can't wait to see clips of Hurd, and VP, and Josh malone making big plays tomorrow.

We're headed to Knoxville this evening. Will get there late, but I can't get out of a dang department meeting.

Taking our almost-four-yearold. The WKU game was too loud for him last year (we left after about 15 minutes), so I'm taking some ear plugs for him.

Never been to an O&W game. Pretty excited to see our new guys. I may even buy some cheap binoculars. Any advice on binoculars, or anything else related to the game?

All of you guys not attending, i'm gonna need you to bust out those Negavol buttons and pin those over your hearts... jk i'll drink and cheer extra for all of ya.

Also, meeting some friends at downtown grill and brewery, anybody have recommendations or a review?

Man I wish I could be there too. I second what Ron said. One of you guys needs to get us stragglers some bootleg video of this scrimmage. I can't handle not being able to watch it on TV.

I think it's a mistake not putting it on TV. Not sure who made that call, but it's one of the few mistakes that have come out of TN football lately.

But who knows. Maybe it's brilliant and Neyland fills up and people just find a way to get there now that their hand is forced. If so, that's okay. I just want to be able to watch it. I'm feeling left out cause I can't make it.

I seriously considered it; I have family in the Knoxville area that I could stay with, but circumstances prevented my attendance. We are going to enjoy the air show and fireworks display in our back yard this weekend though. You may have heard of Thunder Over Louisville?

I'd rather be at thunder in Neyland though.
