by all of these fantasy drawings of high school recruits in college uniforms? It's not just Mark Richt now. There are people from Ohio State, Auburn, and even Tennessee drawing these things. I don't know about y'all but the thought of some dude detailing a high schooler's face in his basement with a box of colored pencils is a bit creepish. Am I way off?

The way I look at it; If it helps (even a little bit) a recruit commit to Tennessee, I don't give a #%^* how creepy it is.

That said, even if I had the smallest bit if artistic talent, I have way too many other things going on in my life to dedicate time to such a thing.

Just can't see this being what turns a kid one way or the other. Those drawings form GA were terrible. I would be running away.

I have seen recruits on twitter re-tweeting artwork of them with a certain team that fans do, so I feel like they enjoy it but I think it's a little weird. But I'm also not a coveted recruit so what the hell do I know.

Yes, definitely kinda creepy. The worst part is that 98% of them look like they were done by an 8 year old.

20 years ago most people would think that a staff member or fan sending direct personal messages to a recruit would be inappropriate/creepy. Now texting, twitter, etc are all just a part of te game. Of course some people will take it too far, but it is just what goes on right now. It lets the player invision what they would look like playing for the school.

Now I would definitely be creeped out by a guy with coloring pencils in his basement drawing a recruit with his shirt off and a sword in his hand while riding a unicorn with wings. A guy in football gear....not so creepy. A guy riding an imaginary animal.... Creepy. Don't get any ideas Sab

Havent seen any "sketches" or drawings from a fan to any of our recruits but I have seen some photo shopped stuff someone has done on Twitter and most of it looks cool and they seem to like it, so, whatever.

The photo shop doesn't bother me really either. That has been around for a while. The drawings are a new phenomenon.

I find it creepy that you find it creepy. What do you think about? Why would you take anything like that as creepy? Is he/she stalking the kid? It reminds me of people that call other people racist when its the one making the accusations that is racist. Some people have to find something wrong with everything. JMO.

there was never a time when a coach contacting a recruit was seen as creepy or inappropriate

Today I would be weary of a college coach texting either of my children multiple times a day during the period that it is allowed. So if you are trying to say that it was never "creepy" you are crazy. 20 years ago they would have had to call the house where most likely a parent would answer and give permission to speak to them. Now everybody has their own cell phone.

no it would not have been creepy in 1994. Many people I knew had separate lines for kids and parents anyway

now, if someone had shown up at the house with a hand-drawn picture of said recruit they would likely have been locked up. Those people hide behind monitors now
