People would be living in a fantasy world if they think that Marquette did not offer CCM. I do think that he will get the 2.3 that was mentioned to me and also the 3 year extension puts him back to 5 yrs. It will also put him within in the top half of the league as far as salary goes.

Andy Katz made it clear that Marquette did offer Cuonzo Martin and that Martin turned Marquette down.

My opinion of Hart would immediately change, I would think he's VERY serious about basketball if that's the raise that gets announced.

I will also say, I've heard that both sides want to have a low buyout, so that could factor in to a higher than expected salary.

It'll make him top 3 SEC, and top 20 nationally IIRC.

Sure I dont mind telling you. My father and I are good friends with 2 connected people with the University. There names are Bill Fannon and Lattie Rosenbalm. They are both donors. Mr Fannon is pretty connected to the AD side of things. Hope this clears this up

He has earned it in my opinion. He has the 3rd best record in the SEC over the past 3 seasons.

Anyone else find it humorous that fans are whining about a coach who's teams have won 19, 20, and 24 games the past 3 seasons?

As long as that fantasy world is called Reality because he didn't get offered by Marquette. 2.3 million is too high, if true. We could've got a better, more established coach for that money. Hopefully, the buyout will not to be too substantial if we find the need to exercise it.

Your friend in coaching, the writer who covers Marquette and Marquette's president are all wrong it would seem. Katz has it covered.

That guy was spouting info on Martin's contract and made an observation on what he thought Marquette did. The dang Marquette president ran down the list of people whom they wanted and Martin was clearly not offered. The fact that I'm not splashing my buddy's name around (since he probably wouldn't appreciate me doing so) doesn't make this any less true and all the info coming from the Marquette side supports this.

Reason being...the story when Martin was hired at UT was that he came to interview, absolutely blew it out of the water, and Hamilton went and stopped him at the airport before he could fly back to Missouri to seal the deal. Said he didn't want to let him out of Knoxville without taking the job.

That could also be UTs spin on it, but seems like 2 complete opposites there.

That's also Hamilton, who's had more incompetent hires than not. He's batting .500 at best. The best thing he did was hire Serrano before hitting the road.

It's the message board. People argue on it. That's what it's for. If you don't want to participate, then don't.
