Sorry Unimane, but I believe LWS over you. Rob Lewis was on the local news in Knoxville yesterday, and he also said CCM turned down the Marquette job.
He was the guy, that's 110% fact, like I said already, if he wanted the job it was his.
Majority of boosters wanted him (once they realized that Howland was gonna be signed off on), and the acting AD wanted him, he's wanted Zo since he was an assistant at Purdue.
:hi:

Interesting. If Unimane didn't have a history of being completely anti-Zo his agenda wouldn't be so obvious, however it's hard to take him seriously on this topic.
Obviously a lot more than you do, it's ok though, we all understand how hard it is for you to accept that a better job than Tennessee wanted Zo.
Interesting.
I 'm guessing this works both ways...if you can't take the "anti-Zo's" seriously on this topic, then you certainly can't take the "pro-Zo's" seriously either, right?
It has nothing to do with any of your nonsense about me not wanting Martin as coach affecting my judgment and me just making up stuff. You just don't know what was happening up there. I grew up playing basketball in Wisconsin and have my only insider info coming from that state. If Martin was pursued by South Florida, then I've got nothing. This was just in my wheel house and I know for a fact that your understanding of the situation is incorrect.
I thought I was calling calling for Zo's head, now I'm back to being a Martinite?
I wish y'all could come to a consensus and make up your mind.
Look, all media outlets taking a stance are saying it was his if he wanted it, I'll link them is you'd like...I've yet to see one say he wasn't their guy and they passed on him, so sorry if I'm a bit skeptical of Unimane's stance.
And going of who I know that was involved, I know your friend is either FOS or you are, take your pick.
No, and, a point of clarification on a mistaken point I made earlier. The interim AD was in on Martin, but he wasn't supported by much of anyone else and the people who pull the strings didn't even consider Martin to make him an "offer".
Oh so you admit the info I had which you called wrong turned out to be accurate....maybe you should listen to rest of what I'm saying too as I've apparently already enlightened you on one aspect of that situation.
No, actually, I called my friend again and I missed him saying the interim AD wanted him, but had no pull in the situation. You keep trying to "enlighten" me on the primary element that didn't even happen, i.e. Martin getting offered (wink, wink, we'll deny this in the media - which didn't happen, either).
Like I said, either you or your "friend" is FOS. I told you what happened and you tried to deny only to find out you were wrong, supposedly.
Believe what you want, but Marquette thought he was theirs and had already informed some media.
If your story if true and nobody wanted Martin, then surely Hart won't see a reason to give him a raise. Let's see what happens...
The raise won't have anything to do with the Marquette. Give me a break. Hell, he got one last year for doing absolutely nothing of consequence.
He got a $50k raise last year, that's nothing except a thanks now STFU. Add a 0 to that number and that's probably what he's gonna get his salary raised to, Hart wouldn't do that simply out of the kindness of his heart :hi:
No, he'd do it for a Sweet 16 appearance. Pearl got an increase of $300,000 in 2008 for the same. Hell, so did Fulmer for getting to the SEC title game and he got fired the next year. Getting a raise won't signify anything beyond this for Martin.
Believe what you want, but I'll trust my high school friend of 30 years who has been a college assistant in Wisconsin for over 10 years and recruits Milwaukee regularly, plus knows a myriad of Marquette people. He wasn't the guy.
