Tennessee is in a good position, but I would wait and see if he goes and visits Penn State again before his decision date.
Also, like I've said with him and other linebackers, it's worth watching on how Tennessee manages the position with Cherry already in the fold and some other guys out there like Quarte Sapp and others they are still in it with. Already having nine commits in a small class, it's going to be interesting to see how they manage almost every position.
i still dont think the class will be as small as some think. i think they get to 21-22 and not 18 like originally though.
QB-1
RB-1
WR-2 (Williams/Woods)
TE-0
OL-4 (Stewart/Jones)
DT-2
DE-3 (Butcher/Jackson)
LB-3 (Dews/Cherry)
CB-2
S-1 (Griffin)
LS-1 (Lovingood)
Consider for a minute the above. That is 21. A lot of people sure we will take 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 5-6 OL, 4 DEs, 4 LBs. It's easy to say that, just not much to support it when you look at it broken down by position.
Yep, Heaven forbid we actually take numbers into consideration when it involves recruiting discussion. :loco:
No one is expecting 30+ again but we are only going to be a few guys shy of 25 which is the "max" every year. I am more concerned with who will get the spots, not how many there are. I am sure the coaches can count, just like last year. The numbers get beaten to death these days.
18-22 will fill up pretty fast and IMO will leave a lot of kids people swear are takes headed elsewhere as there is no room for them at UT this cycle.
Common problem every year for upper tier schools. I guess it has been a while since we have had this "problem". It is exciting to have a coach that actually recruits well and can count.....
