You seem to be getting individual incidents confused with "culture".

There are always going to be individual incidents in a program. That doesn't really speak to the culture of the program, just bad decisions made by individual players.

When a large group of players get together and do stupid stuff, it speaks more to the culture.

Seems like a no guns, drugs, and drinking and driving is a fairly standard team rule.

Having a no sleeping with someone in judicial affairs seems like a tough one to really predict. I'm sure it falls under the don't be stupid, and if you are stupid, you get the boot rule. Which seems to be applies in this situation.

you pointed out the incident with the 4 former Vols then lecture me on using specific incidents - that is laughable.

that being said I have no problem in admitting that the social culture has improved under CCM with the bball team.

I'm not sure which coaches you are referring to, and I really don't want to know, but still, short of putting up a picture of the chick with a big X over her face one a WARNING DO NOT BANG FOR HELP GETTING OUT OF PLAGIARISM, I'm not sure what else they could do. Also, yea, she is kind of hot, but sounds like you might catch something.

I think you missed the point. It was't 1 player doing something stupid. It was 4 players being collectively stupid together. 18-21 year olds are always going to do stupid stuff. When they start getting together with their teammates and doing stupid stuff together is when you have a culture problem.

question I have is why did hart and martin not have a press conference to announce this most important news regarding CCM and his continued tenure at UT???

seems strange not to capitalize on the media flurry surrounding the speculation...

Probably because they haven't worked out the logistics of the contract. This was just a, "don't worry, somethings in the works, press release."

A little different between 80+ players and 12-13 players. Also, it sounds like one clique in the football program has a few issues. However, kids doing stupid stuff at parties is different than kids riding around town with a gun having filed off serial numbers.

So...if I hear you correctly...CBP was basically running a chapter of the crips gang here in Knoxville, while all these other discipline scenarios can be explained away as either 'individual incidents', or just 'kids doing stupid stuff at parties'. Right?

three players were arrested including one of the supposed team leaders and approx 10-15 other football players charged for alcohol related offenses....

Hey man, I'm not the athletic director. I didn't talk about the social culture of the team being vastly improved in a press conference. Just quoting the man who runs the athletic department, but you probably know more about the team culture than he does.

but but but this is such an exciting and wonderful day that CCM chose UT over Marquette....

If he wants to be here, it should be shouted from the highest mountain for recruiting and stabilization of the program. Since he (CCM) is "locked down" UT should let everyone know!!!

I know you're seriously disappointed, but again, I would expect a press conference when they actually have the contract signed all nice and pretty so they can release the terms of the deal and really infuriate some of you people.
