Ok, I'm sick of getting shafted for getting a next-gen system

Oh hell no! Remember the N64? At launch you had Pilot Wings 64 and Mario 64. That was IT man! Until Goldeneye finally released my N64 was a huge paperweight for quite a while. And then after Goldeneye it yet again became a huge paperweight until Zelda Ocarina of Time came out.

Hell yes I remember. Outside of Rare doing Perfect Dark and Goldeneye, Nintendo had hardly any third party support.

I wonder the age of the OP. I am 41, and I have been through a lot of launches (I've gotten every Nintendo system around launch, but the Wii U), and this one is really above average. Still Mario 64 is one of best the launch games ever.

That said you don't buy a console at launch for what it's going to do the first year. You buy a console for what it is doing in year 3.

Nah. I would rather just make threads on VN and watch everyone's jimmies get rustled because of my lack of satisfaction with the online content.

After beating the garbage that was Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition I almost completely lost hope in gaming altogether, but Assassins Creed: Black Flag redeemed my hope. I'm looking forward to Final Fantasy 15, The Order, and the new AC game coming out at the end of the year.

If you like combat flight sims, it is a must-have. TP will agree with me here, it is probably the best looking next gen game either of us have played and its amazing that there are so many people on one map with so much stuff going on and not so much as a blimp of lag or latency.

As a very casual player of first person shooters, I am really enjoying Blacklight Retribution. For someone like me, it's perfect to just jump in, play a few rounds and jump out. Plus the game already gives you what I consider the best gun in the game. You can be very competitive with the assault rifle the game gives you. I've tried all the others and I just keep going back to it.

My issue isn't with not being able to get them for free. I don't mind paying $10-$20 for classic games, even though I already did once. I just don't like that I don't have the option. But I do get the option for a side-scrolling 2-D Indy game.

And I'm not putting my emphases on the "free". I don't care to pay for it. I just want to have good games to pay for. I don't know why that's so hard for everyone to grasp.

Again, as I have stated already, it's not the "free" thing that bothers me. It's the lack of quality options I am getting to download.

This is what I get for commiting to Sony's next-gen. I should have just kept my PS3/360, I could be playing Arkham City for free, instead I get to play a 2-D Megaman knock off. You can't even download classic games on this piece of junk. Sony needs to step this up before I go another route.

I don't care that it wasn't free, it just so happens AC was free and that was the example I used.

I can't explain this any clearer. I'm curious as to why you are so convinced I want games for free when I clearly stated I downloaded several classic games (such as FFVII) for my PS3 which were $9.99.

And I'm not sure how I can explain and clearer that they specifically announced that there would be NO CLASSIC GAMES for download for the PS4 before the thing was launched. At least there wont be until the streaming service goes live and they announced it wouldn't be available at launch. 2014 is just starting the second quarter for ****s sake, there will be many titles available throughout the year.......LIKE THEY SAID lol.

So based on the fact that the first example I used just happened to be a free game, you conclude that I am 95% upset about free games and nothing else. Regardless of the fact that if you're going to apply that poor excuse for logic, in the post immediately after I made a comment about classic games. What exactly made you decide I was more upset about free games than classic games? After all on the first page of the thread I mentioned them both once.

When I traded in Tomb Raider: DE there were no good games to apply the credit for, so I bought a few different things, including a $10 PSN card. I went home with said card thinking I would find a decent $10-$20 game on PSN to download. Naturally, I did not. They all suck. Then I saw the April lineup for what options I would have to download/purchase in April. It was only one game, and the game was awful. That was the final thing that provoked me to start the thread.

I used the specific article in the OP because of the contrast in the quality of two games being released this month. The one being released for the PS3 is great, the one being releases for the PS4 is garbage. It just how happens that article is specifically mentioning free games.

Also, I've already stated I bought classics on the PSN, so how would it make sense that I am only wanting free games on my PS4?

Your "95% free" argument is poor, sad, and has no foundation besides one sentence that was used in this whole thread. Your argument is as poor as your weak attempt to use "subjective, objective" to make yourself sound smart.

For those who can both read, and comprehend what they are reading, I will state it again very simply:

-I wish I had better games to download on my PS4

-PS3 users get good games every month

-I can't even get a classics library, and I refuse to believe my PS4 can't play a 16-bit classic game over "coding"

-This month PS3 users are getting Arkham City for free, I'm getting a 2-D side scroller.

-If Sony will give me a better downloadable release than a 2-D Indy garbage side scroller, I would happily pay for it. I've even got a gift card for such an occasion.





......... I can't say it any simpler. So instead of me "going a different route" I would suggest you come up with a better argument and a better attempt at sounding intelligent. It's funny... every morning I open this thread and some new "smart guy" has written some sad, long post trying to refute what I have to say. I am always interested to see what they write, and it's not long before I realize I am just going to have to reiterate the same points in a been reiterating for 8 pages now.

My community of gamers agrees with me in this stance, and they agree every month a crap selection for PS4 gets released, and a good selection for PS3 gets released. They have actually switched to XBONE for Titanfall, so it doesn't matter to them, but they agree.

There seem to be several of you who do not agree with my stance on this. That's fine. But if your mission here is to change my mind, (here comes another thing I've stated already) you can only do so with the defense of the quality of games. An argument I would love to hear. You will not change my mind (again, if that's your goal here) by constantly repeating "you only want free games!" and "you didn't do your research!"

I agree I didn't research it thoroughly enough. My mind was made up that I was getting PS4, as my entire clan was getting it on launch night and we were all getting COD: Ghosts. I knew there wouldn't be quite the same selection of games on PSN, but I didn't know A) none of the PS1 games I previously bought on PSN would come with me, nor would they be available, and B) the games they were going to release over the course of the first 6 months were going to be rubbish.

So here I am ranting about it. And here a handful of VN posters are ironically childishly ranting about my childish rant. Some have repeatedly wasted their time telling me I'm wasting their time, some have chosen to insult my family tree, and many have repeated the same arguments and chose not to pay attention to my rebuttal.

So not one of you has done anything to convince me that I should be happy with the crap games I'm getting as options every month. If you would like to argue quality of games I am ready to listen, if not feel free to keep repeating yourself on your assumptions regarding what I am complaining about. You obviously have failed to read why I feel the way I do about the games PS4 is releasing. Getting lesser games, no classics library, and not being able to keep the games I previously purchased because apparently PSN is somehow a different network if you access it from a different console, makes me feel like I got the short end of the stick, I don't know why that's hard to comprehend. I'm aware of what you're argument is, hence I acknowledged it and have repeated SEVERAL times why it is a pointless argument. I'm not saying your argument is about quality of games, in saying the only valid argument you COULD MAKE is about quality of games. I assume when you say "disgraceful" you mean to say "disrespectful". Fair enough if you feel this way. But if you re-read my posts, I think you will see that I attacked no one, just the system and PSN. For the most part the first page was pretty peaceful, people explaining why the system is the way it is and me saying I just wish there was a classics library. Trust me, the last thing I thought is that this thread would turn into some form of argument.

The arguing ensued when Bearcat got off his tricycle, put down his Spider-man lunchbox, folded his arms and told me to "sell my system, no one gives a rip!" then decided to call my rant "childish". Not sure what he hoped to accomplish with that, nor am I sure why I am now being treated as the aggressor. But since now some sad attempt of ganging up on me by several posters (the majority of which, based on the PS4 thread, obviously game online together.... interesting to note) who neither can comprehend where my displeasure with the PS4 lies, nor provide a valid argument regarding why the PS4 options are good options, here we stand.
