I hope everyone of these "were heading in the right direction" folks eat the biggest pile of crow imaginable. This hurts worse than anything UT basketball related since Izzo beat us in the elite 8

the morons are the ones thinking a man of his character would leave butthurt because of an online petition.
He's gone, they said. Thanks petition signers, you guys say. Clueless commentary.
Welcome to the board. :hi:We all need to line up behind Coach Martin and give him our full support. This divisiveness only provides fuel to our competitors and serves no constructive purpose other than to tear the team down. While I might complain about how the team plays (which is normal for the most devout fans), the bottom line is that these young men represent the University of Tennessee, and Coach Martin has instilled values and commitment that is lacking in many folks today. In fact, they are more committed to UT and its well-being than many of the naysayers on this site!
Huh? Is somebody upset CCM is still our coach? I'm talking about all the doomsday posters on here.
Doomsday to some is reality to others. If Stokes leaves, we have no post game for the next 2-3 years. We still have no proven shooters, pg or rim protector.
I was simply pointing out how the moronic crybabies were guaranteeing he was gone and it was due to the fans, which is the view of an immature mind not ready to analyze what happens in the real world outside of anonymous message boards.
If CM coaches how he is capable, I'm fine with him staying. If he is going to coach 1 good game out of every 4-5, I'm fine with him looking elsewhere. Personally, I don't know why he would not cash in at his peak as I don't see him long term here. It's not where he is from, not where his recruiting ties are, and fans won't put up with 1 tourney visit every few years.

All I can say is, I hope all the armchair coaches on this board submitted their resumes to Dave Hart.
Sometimes I'm just flabbergasted at how vicious people get over this stuff. The guy isn't the greatest X's and O's coach, but he motivated our players towards a pretty unexpected Sweet 16 run and deserves more time. I think the football mediocrity we've been stuck in for the past several years has poisoned people against every other sport our athletes compete in and they just want someone to lash out against.
- Our men's basketball team just fought valiantly in the Sweet 16
- Our lady's basketball team just lost in the Sweet 16
- Our softball team is #2 in the country
- Our men's baseball team has been in the Top 25
- Despite our absolute mediocrity in football, Butch Jones just landed a Top 5 recruiting class in the nation. We're the only team in the Top 10 recruiting that had a losing record last year.
If you're "highly upset" over Cuonzo being our coach again next year, I can only assume that you prefer our program to be in flux, in chaos, and perpetually stuck in a cycle of coaches so that you have something to talk about.
It didn't turn me 180. I don't think CCM is the guy still. But I am not 100% on that. I want to be 100% sure before firing the guy. I saw some things that I like. When I said he should be fired, I also thought UT would miss the tourney. They did not.
And I had no faith that UT would have hired a good replacement had he left.
This was the best thing for the program at the time.
Give him an extension and let him succeed or fail on his own terms with no excuses as to know what we got.
