I mean of course you say no you are trying to prove a point, but I think if you make the sweet sixteen you basically finish in the top 16 of that season. Witch is better than all the preseason rankings your posting #justsayin

An updated look at the Top 25 for 2013-14 season - NCAA men's college basketball - ESPN
LaSalle and Florida Gulf Coast both made the sweet 16 last year. Neither finished in the top 16.
Wisconsin lost in the first round and finished ahead of both.
I hope everyone of these "were heading in the right direction" folks eat the biggest pile of crow imaginable. This hurts worse than anything UT basketball related since Izzo beat us in the elite 8
The national media or coaches never believed our roster was as great on paper as CCM bashers claim.
We were never ranked in the Top 25 in the AP or Coaches poll at any point this season. Preseason nor mid-season. These are the ONLY consensus national polls... You are listing rankings from single websites/magazines. The national media or coaches never believed our roster was as great on paper as CCM bashers claim.
My post
Your head.
I wasn't saying if you finish in the sweet 16 that means you finish in the top 16 of the final AP/coaches rankings. I'm saying if you finish in the sweet sixteen than you basically finish in top 16 of that year.
Billy Donovan did and spoke clearly concerning it pre-season. It took a while (nearly too long) to get it to awake, but when it finally started clicking because of whatever factor, we reached the potential that many expected. A play away from Elite 8.
I find it pretty funny that you for some reason want to deny the half dozen or so members of the various sporting press outlets that cover NCAA basketball nationally that I found after a few minutes of searching, but buy completely into the rankings of people who work for the local papers and generally cover one team or the coaches, of whom 35 total vote out of 350 and a good portion of them likely let someone do it for them.
BTW, we were 26th in the pre-season AP, 29th in the Coaches.
So essentially every poll I can find in the pre-season had us between 17th and 29th which puts us on average around an expected 5-6 seed.
The 5-6 seeds averaged 25 wins this season. Had we not had the bad losses to A&M, UTEP, and Vandy, we have 24 wins and are a 5-6 seed. Right were we were expected to be by most pre-season prognostication. What you do from there is all about draw in the tournament.
And our Sweet 16 finish means we played into a 4-seed. Hence "exceeded" expectations by your own logic. Thank you...mic drop...walk off stage.
Are you rooting against UT just for the sake of being right?I hope everyone of these "were heading in the right direction" folks eat the biggest pile of crow imaginable. This hurts worse than anything UT basketball related since Izzo beat us in the elite 8
I hope people don't act like jackasses if he decides to stay. The guy has never done anything to embarrass the university and his players keep their nose clean for the most part. If he comes back, he deserves our support until he proves otherwise. Time will tell.
It doesn't make a lot of sense for an active coach to fly to another school, interview for their job, then turn them down.
If you didn't want their job, why bother?
Marquette could have decided to go in a different direction , informed Cuonzo thus giving him to opportunity to "save face" by pulling his name.
