Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Going tomorrow night too. Hope to get JP Arencibia's autograph.

We sat by Toronto's dugout at Cincinnati 2 years ago. Yelled Go Vols at him and he came over and spoke to Jr. Good guy
Not sure if yall come down often and know your way around but if you want restaurant info, just let me know what you're looking for/

I am spoiled by the HOT RECRUITING NEWS thread. I saw it bolded on my phone and thought Gentry had committed. Good to hear that we made it through the night still in the lead for Torrance Gibson though.

The older you get the less you worry about things that used to be "important" but no longer are including hair.
Staying fairly healthy and playing with grandkids get more important.
Also going to Vol football games!

No doubt about that, although for a 65 year old, dad still gets after it every weekend. He plays racquetball every Saturday with both his boys, goes home and does yard work, and still has time to play with his three granddaughters.

Ibuprofen and Salon Paus help...

Aren't those insanely expensive? Might be thinking of another, but I thought those were never below $50.

Looks like someone else already addressed it but I was about to say I picked up some Cupcake Red Velvet for the old lady one time for probably no more than $12.

Andy Katz just basically said that the Marquette job is Cuonzo's to take. Decision within 24 hours.

Assuming Martin leaves, Dave Hart better make clear to his replacement that he must make the tournament every year regardless of injuries or the state of the roster he inherits.

...Petitions will be signed.

Ya I must be thinking of another one with the word cake in it or something like that.

Cakebread Cellars is what you are thinking of. They have a tremendous Cabernet, but it is pricey, ~$75

Cup Cake is table wine, very cheap.

That's great that he can still do the racquetball thing. I try to do some walking and have to do some yard work but medical issues (lower back, left hip, right shoulder, left arm) have stopped my golf and serious ball playing with grandkids. Add to that, I've had two bouts with cancer so I also watch what I eat and drink to a certain extent. All part of getting old I guess. I've lasted a lot longer than expected so I am not complaining, very happy to see the sun rise and set every day. GBO

Arencibia is with Texas now- in starting lineup today. I know that because I am a Rangers fan. Just FYI. Enjoy the games.

My opinion
7 deadly zins
Any old vine zinfadel is good

Any Pinot from Oregon. New Zealand is starting to produce some good ones too.

I do not like merlot

Kinda general, but not sure what is available there

Thanks, Doc. Will keep in mind.

I'm sorry sir, but 65 years of age should not inherently come with two bouts with cancer and all (or most) of those joint issues. Glad to hear all's well and you're treating life with a "Glass half full" type attitude, though!

Dad's just following in his dad's footsteps. My grandfather was a Golf pro and Tennis pro for years. I have the build of a Middle Linebacker (well I DID anyway...) and I played football for years but there's NOTHING better than a game of racquetball for me.

I hope I have the same fortune as my dad. He'll keep playing until his body lets up which, depending on the day you ask, is either next week or next decade.

Approaching your dad's age. I turn 60 later this week. According to my doc I am in much better shape than I was 10 years ago. Based on the scale and how I feel I know that is true. Down 40+ lbs, average BP of 115/68 with resting heart rate of 50-54, no meds other than for seasonal allergies. Your grand dad and dad are doing it right IMO. Outside, exercise, sports/hobbies, good nutrition, and VN! lol. Anything that knocks out stress and helps you get a good night's rest. Game changers. Congrats on having good mentors.

I heard on one of the Knoxville radio sports shows today where a caller said that Stokes' "girl friend" played on one of the UT programs. Anyone know who he was talking about? The caller commented that might keep Stokes here another year.
