Their athleticism isn't where I see the risk. I see it that both are still trying to master the passing part of the position. If we only get those two, then we are getting two very gifted athletes with one question mark at the most critical part of their position.

That's what I was saying.

Two incredible athletes, but we aren't sure either end up at QB.

Wu and Glick...I'll take my little band of 300 against the multiple nose ringed Orange Hammer and his high pitched voice and Mel Kiper attitude...along with the obvious overwhelming force of Torrance Gibson Twitter followers...I'll perish pretty quick but WuGlick will gif the crap out of the rest of you...reminds me... where's Sparty? :yess:

To each their own as far as talent evaluation, but don't go calling the kid a hipster doofus. That's the only reason I chimed in. I'm relatively new to VN, but confident that's not what the founder intended for these boards. Now let's get back to talking football... Cheers...

So, I know TG has elite athletic talent, but I'm not sure about elite quarterback talent. What do you guys think?

Well, what I do know is that he's a very highly rated prospect with an elite offer list and is at the top of the UT QB board with Gentry and Wimbush. I'm pretty sure that 99% of us posting on here aren't as good at evaluating talent as the UT coaching staff and they want him to be a UT QB, that says a lot to me even if you disregard the rankings. But lets take a look at those rankings...

Rivals - #2 Dual Threat QB, 6.0 4star.

247 - #1 Dual Threat QB, 5 star.

Scout - #3 QB, 5 star.

ESPN - #2 Athlete, 4 star.

And on 247's composite rankings - #1 Dual Threat QB, #5 player in the state of Florida.

Those are elite rankings.

Some on here have the opinion that he won't be a good college QB, and maybe that will be the case, but basing my opinion on all the information above (coaches evaluations, offer list, rankings) I'm going to say I think with the right coaching Torrance Gibson could be an elite QB at the next level. I think it's pretty clear that the chances of that happening are much better than him being a bust.

At the end of the day, I hope he signs with UT. I think only a fool would hope he went elsewhere. JMO

I hope he signs elsewhere if he insists on being a QB.

Wimbush and Gentry are much better QB prospects, IMO. There's a reason he keeps getting moved to WR at camps and it isn't because he's throwing the ball so well.

There are at least 10 QBs I would rather see UT take than Gibson. The *'s next to the kids name do not mean a whole lot if he can't complete his passes. For a QB, that is kind of a big deal.

In other words, get this guy on board before we sign another Nathan Peterman. Amirate?

I respect and completely disregard your opinion on this one Ron...:hi:...I concede that the talent is there...he just reminds me too much of Ryan Perriloux...if Butch pursues and lands him,I'll be ecstatic in my wrongativity :dance2:

This kid reminds me of Vinch Young in his Texas days. I mean that in absolutely the best way possible.

Vince was unstoppable in college to the extent he was taken 3rd overall in the draft without even being a very competent passer.

Well as far as I'm concerned...little of what you say makes sense...and the general consensus...is that this kid is a take at qb...no matter how many comments you make...nor how many ellipses you add...none of it makes sense...if any...at all.

And the overwhelming amount of Tennessee fans that follow him on twitter are helping us greatly in his recruitment.

So you and wuglitch and your merry band of 300 (or whatever, maybe 3) need to realize this:

1.Torrance Gibson is at the top of our QB board, and will stay there IMO.

2.

How about posting a few years and establishing some cred before you call somebody out. As of now you are just a pesky annoying summertime gnat. You're like the guy that jumps into a fray and you have no idea who to punch but you swing anyway.

In b4 wutang swoopes in to protect his buddy and ask "WHO ARE YOU THO BRO?"

I understand this, and I agree that it worries me that he's moved to WR..

That being said, why are our coaches telling this kid we didn't take a QB last year so we could go "all in" with him? Do the coaches see something in him that we don't see, or do they just think he has such dynamic play-making ability that they think they can fix his throwing issues?

It seems like many of you all are seeing things that make you believe that he isn't one of the better QB's in this class, but our coaches think otherwise. Why the discrepancy? Honest question.

I'm not "protecting my buddy." It's a message board, I have no idea who the guy is. However, your pretentious, all- knowing attitude. That's the problem
