So if he were to play defense, would you think he would be better suited as a safety?

It just seems like we have some other receivers with similar skill set that would probably be ahead of him (Johnson, Jenkins, Pearson, Josh Smith). He seems like a good athlete that we would try to get on the field somehow.

I'm not sure if any of those guys are as good in space, though. Vic and Pearson are probably about equal there.

Vic's a beast. He'll make his presence known in return duty from the jump.

He's a better slot guy than all of those guys except Pearson. But they are different types of players. But Wharton has much better skill set than Johnson(who's a No.4-5 WR at best) and Smith(who's a No.3-No.4 WR). Wharton is a No.3 type of WR but he creates a mismatch that the other guys don't. IMO Plus he's a good return man.

last night before i went to bed, i saw a tweet talking about the war room. it said something about checkerboard helmet stickers.... anybody with a VQ sub know whats up?

You might have noticed the checkerboards not just in the end zones of Neyland Stadium but on the backs of some Vols' helmets. It's why we used that photo for the War Room. So what does it all mean???

Well, we spoke with Butch Jones about it this week. Sticker are awarded to players based on plays where they fulfill the coaches' vision for how to perform, from an effort and mentality standpoint. Like Jalen Hurd, who's received at least three of the stickers. One of those came in no small part because during a recent practice Hurd caught a swing pass, had a chance to juke a defender, dart out of bounds or lower his head. He flat-out trucked a DB.

I know I'm late on naming a starting qb discussion, but if they name RF or JD the #1 after spring that may cause JW to transfer since he only has a year of eligibility left. That wouldn't be good with some thinking NP may transfer out after this semester anyways. I don't see them naming a starter after spring unless it's JW. Even if that's just to keep JW around his last year and push RF and JD throughout the summer and into fall camp. I honestly don't see them naming one at all until fall though even if they have a really good idea who it's gonna be.

As far as the Cuonzo talk, I'm sorry, but I'm still not sold on him. I think us being in the sweet 16 has more to do with the players stepping up their game bc they know this is their last shot at making a run than it has to do with coaching. If some boosters are pulling their support at this point they likely still aren't sold on Zo either. Especially if they know it's hurting recruiting and whatever else. Like I've said before, Zo's a great guy, but I just don't think he's the guy to get this program to where it has the potential to be on a consistent basis despite our current run to S16. We should've been playing a lot closer to the level we are now all year. Or at least the majority of it. JMO

I agree. I still don't think he'll be the coach we want to stay with for years to come. Not to mention his style of offense is incredibly boring and infuriating. I feel like we have the athletes to run the court, aside from Maymon.

So its the typical award stickers that teams like Ohio State use. I wonder if its just for practice or if they will earn them for game attire.
No way we take those to the games. We'll stick to the stickers for winning games on gameday unis. Jmo though. Too many stickers looks bad

If the kids like helmet stickers then use helmet stickers. This whole "stick to tradition" crowd drives me crazy. I don't care what they do I just want wins and if doing something as simple as a helmet sticker helps in recruiting then by all means do it. Some of our fans on here are turning into the blue hairs pretty quickly
